Okay, here is a question to all you moms out there who love football!

The Titans(I live in Nashville) will be playing the Indianapolis Colts (Peyton Manning is a UT alumni) here at home on October 27, Monday Night Football!

This is the same night as my 11 yr. olds first Middle School Chorus recital.

My husband just came home with the news that we can have club level tickets for this game from his work.

What would you do????

I would hate to give up the tickets, but.... it is her first recitial and I am sure very important to her. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley19.gif
So a least oneof you should be there in my opinion -just my opinion (both would be better)
Can he get tickets to another game on another date??

Ok I know this isn't much help, but my family is HUGE steeler's fans and my daughter would voluntarily skip the recital and go to the game too! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif

Oh man, Sheryl, that's a tough one! I live in Foxboro, MA- home of the Patriots - so I feel your pain. It's so hard just to get tickets, nevermind trying to get a specific date!
Is there any chance you can do both? Monday night football starts later than a regular game, so maybe you can get to the recital and then make it to the game. If I couldn't do both, I'dchoose the recital, too. She'll only ever have one first recital - and hopefully you can get football tickets again.
Good luck with that - let us know what happens!

I would agree - is there any possible way you could do both, even if you have to be a bit late for the game?

It would depend on the recital. What exactly is involved and how important is it to your child? All kids are different. We are such baseball/football fans in our house. Our kids would havegladly skipped a recital to go to a game, especially Monday Night Football! But it should be your child's call.

That's a good idea also, can you do both? or Maybe one of you can go to the game and the other the recital then when the recital is over go over to the game?

Yes, Patti!

We finally realized that the game doesn't start until 7:30. We probably won't get there until half time, but that's okay...That's when things get really fired up!!!

No, we would bever miss something as imprtant as her first recital, but it sure did cross our minds. LOL

We have 6 kids, she is number 5. In other words, we know what's important and we've seen our fair share of firsts for all the kids. But we are starting to look forward to the days when we will have more freedom ourselves.

AND I REALLY LOVE the TITANS! We're ahead 3 points right now against Jacksonville.

Sheryl I know exactly what you mean about all the "firsts" having gone through it wil4 kids. Sometimes by the time the last ones come around for their "firsts" it is easy to over look them thinking "oh we've done that before". But what we have to remember is it isn't about us but about them. I just graduated my last child from high school in June (Yippee!) And while she is still living at home, she is in college and works a job so she is now more of a "roommate" http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif
Albeit a FREE roommate! We have a lot more time now, but hubby is still connected to aschool calendar's so it won't be completely over until about 4 years from now when he retires. CAN'T WAIT!
You made a great decision to compromise and be able to attend both!
Have a great time!!!
