Has any one has ever recreated a fragrance from B&BW? If you have, which one and how did it turn out?

I haven't joined UB yet but I'm looking into it. How do you come up with just the right combinations?

How are parties done with the new kit?

I looked at the back of the bottle and there was a list of the fragrances in it. I wrote them down, came home to my kit and started playing. Since we don't have cranberry I knew I would have to substitute something. Pomegranate is great for that, it was sweet enough and took on the "flavor" of the cranberry. Then I just did it drop by drop and kept adjusting until I felt it was right.

I have done other fragrances the same way. If someone wants me to try and make something I am always willing. I just google the fragrance name and you can almost always find a site that will list the ingredients. I then just start playing around until I think it is right. (of course if I get stuck, I ask McKenna or one of the other designers and together we can usually get it)

With the new kit, you give a 20 minute presentation, and play a game to get everyone interested and excited. You show them the home collection and how the burner works. You also have sample scents of all 66 oils and you have sample scents of about 30 combinations of oils. You pass them around for the guests to smell and mark a paper with which ones they like. Then they use the catalog to choose what they want- just oils, oils and unscented product, Home Collection(s), Signature Fragrance collections that have oils, unscented product, mixing glass etc or any combination. They order, you collect $ and book parties and off you go.

I like the old parties they are so much fun, but I really like the knew format. I had a party about 100 miles from home last week and was not looking forward to the drive home and getting there late and then having to get up early for day job. But I forgot that the parties don't last as long and there was no cleanup for me when I got home. And I went to bed early that night. I am closing that party Monday morning.

The new party format allows you, the designer, to spend a bit more time with the guests, as well. And I really like that. You are more relaxed and not as scattered and have time to really help each guest choose what will work best for her. I really, really like the new format and the kit is amazing and beautifully put together. You'll love it.

So, basically, you pass around the sample scents...they order the ones they want along with the lotion, bubble bath, perfume, and/or shower gel, and whatever supplies they need. Then when they get everything they mix everything together...however they want.

I think....if I understood that correctly...

When they order the oils, 3 come with the oil warmers.
But yes you are correct. They can use the oils in the warmers, or they can order unscented products and experiment until they find what they like.

The signature collection comes with recipes and unscented products, plus oils.

Thanks Diane. My parents came and I took a break from the computer and today I went to my sister's house for a family party, so I am glad that someone answered for me. I love how we all work together that way.
