The link in my signature is the company I represent.
I am planning on doing in-home candle parties and have no idea which of the almost 300 scents that I should have available for potential customers to smell before they buy!
Which ones do you think you'd choose to take to represent? HELP! lol :)

I'd buy whichever ones that are your favorites. That's the way I do my business, buy for show the ones that are my favorites, that way I can always use them in my home when they burn down too low for show.

From doing home parties in the past, I would choose a little sampling of everything. A selection of the bakery scents, a selection from the floral scents, a selection from the fruity scent, and then some miscellaneous scents.
Each person is different in their likes and dislikes....and I think having a sample or two of each catagory would cover everyone at the party.

You might want to consider a combination of you favorite scents and whatever the company has on their best sellers list.
True you sell what you love, but you'd be well served to pay attention to what's selling consistently for the company. Scents are such a personal thing. And if you have leftovers that you aren't fond of, you'll have some fab gifts ;-)
Limit yourself to a decent selection in 10 +/- scents. Too many choices just confuses people and actually tends to reduce sales.
People will buy what you have on hand :)

Thanks for the tips and ideas, girls!
Yes, Andrea - I was thinking that I would buy the monthly specials (Since they are already reduced in price plus I get my commission on my own orders!) to have some stock on hand to sell the next month at retail price at the parties. (Maybe with a little discount, we'll see!)

Hi I also do in-home parties, and usually what I do is select 1 particular fragrance per party. But I also have the candles I have made available to sell.

Hi Jennifer,
You've gotten a lot of excellent advice here!I particularly agree with bringing the top sellers and also bringing a variety from different categories; I find that people tend to prefer either food scents OR floral scents, with little crossover. You may also want to think about doing a "Theme of the Month" related to an upcoming holiday and bringing one or two scents that tie in with that. For instance, "Gingerbread" at Christmastime, "Indian Summer" in October, etc. Make it fun!
Blessings,
Christy
