Hi, I just joined wahm.com but have been lurking for quite sometime. I had a friend that had a mia bella candle and it smelled really good. She had got it at a school fundraiser...thats probably been a year now. I moved and now looking for information and happened to find this place.

Could someone tell me a bit about mia bella? I have thought about working at home, but not really sure I can afford it right now.

Is there a start up fee and how much? What do I get with it? I have read thru some of the other boards, but theres not as much activity as there is here.

Thank you for your time.

I'm sure Debra will cover most of this for you, but for others that may be readding the forum I will just jot some things down and others pitch in on the obvious things I will forget! smileys/smiley36.gif

There are two different ways you can join. One being the Candle of the Month member, which is an autoship purchase - $39.95 plus shipping per month and you will receive one jar candle, a dozen votives, a bella bar, and your website/back office access. You also have the steepest discounts available for your future product purchases. You can always sell your candle of the month and recoup what you put into it that month should you not care for the scent - someone always likes scents you may not care for!

Another way to join is as an Associate member. There are no monthly purchase requirements, but your discount is not as steep as for COTM members.

Taxes - the company will pay all sales tax FOR you should you choose that method. I personally submit my own sales tax because some of the orders I have are for my personal use - or I use them for marketing purposes so I am choosing to pay the tax on my wholesale cost versus what the suggested retail is. It's a quarterly filing here for me, so it's not so bad. A better savings for me in the long run.

You also have a wonderful team of distributors right here, that may or may not be on your personal team, that are willing to help and share.

That's a good starting point. Please add to this! smileys/smiley36.gif

Thank you ladies for your pm's. I see that I have alot to learn. I am most concerned about paying 40.00 a month right now. I dont currently work and have to watch what we spend. What time frame would you expect to make money? I know it will not happen right away.

Can you please post here why you chose mia bella rather than the other companies on wahm.com. I think that would give me a idea of what kind of company this is. Are they family friendly?

Someone mentioned that you have retail sites coming, does that mean you have to personally order each item? I am confused so sorry for all the questions.

Thank you

Mia Bella is VERY family friendly!!!!!

Alot of distributors get their kids involved in the business as "little helpers" LOL

I love this company because it is ROCK SOLID, I love the support of my team and upline, I LOVE the candles and the fact that they are strong scented, cool and clean burning and VIRTUALLY SOOT FREE! The commission made is very nice....I love everything about this company. You would not be disappointed!!!!

Retail sites should be coming soon. In the mean time people would just order products from you through phone or emails! Also, if you join as an associate you can build the business for a few months up to the point that the candle of the month is paid for and then you would switch over! Only recommended for people who are really serious about starting a fabulous business! HTHEdited by: Margey

Family Friendly? Absolutely! We are even allowed to bring our children to our Flings we have twice a year!

You can be in profit with your first case order. Heck, you can be in profit immediately if you outright sell your Candle of the Month package! smileys/smiley36.gif

I chose to work with this company because I loved the established fundraiser opportunity. Once I became a part of them though, I totally fell in love with the products and so did everyone I let smell them. I took pre-paid orders that first day of showing - enough to pay for the full case order! From that point on, I knew what I had to do and that was to really work this business. My customer base has increased - by word of mouth alone.

Retail sites are in the works with an expected spring delivery date - all tentative of course. I just take orders for the jars and they pay me ahead of time. I told myself to get 6 jar orders and I would be able to pick and choose for the rest. I ended up with 8 pre-paid orders that first day. I chose 4 more scents I knew would be sellers to complete the case order requirement, and placed the order in the back office.

You must order in the following increments:

Jars candles - 12 jars (one case - assorted fragrances)

Votives - 12 votives (one case - all same scent)

Bella Buns - 16 Buns (one case)

Bella Bars - singles (also bulk orders for less)

Bella Wash - singles (also bulk orders for less)

Bella Hand Soap - singles (also bulk orders for less)

The quantities may seem intimidating, and that was my initial hesitation. That ended up being an unfounded fear for me as I found the candles sold VERY well. I just had to "announce" I was getting ready to place an order and who wants me to add theirs to it?! I got the orders! For me, face to face retailing has been very easy. Making the minimums has also been extremely easy. I liked having a few left over to have "On hand", especially that Sweet Orange & Chili Pepper (my personal best seller), because I knew every "extra" that sold was pure profit for me.

Hi Purple Rain!

All very valid questions, and please keep them coming- it's the best way
to get a feel for who we are and what we do with our business.

Have you checked out the company website yet? I think you will be very
impressed with the HEART and INTEGRITY of this company- they are
*VERY* kid and family oriented- that's how it all began- with a fundraiser
for the CEO's kids!

I have a 3 minute presentation recording on my website that is an
overview of the company and the business. Feel free to click on over and
have a listen. Go to the company website and read the archived
newsletters, listen in on some of our weekly business opportunity
conference calls...

How do you want to build your business? Retail? Fundraising? Online?
Offline? (You can do any or ALL of these and so much more.)

After you research, if you decide this is a home business opportunity you
would like to pursue, here are some suggestions for starting on a limited
budget.

1. Decide how many months you want to devote to as your "trial" period.

2. Save up $$ so you have enough to cover those months (or at least 1/2)
BEFORE signing up.

3. While you are saving, start talkiing to your warm market about your
potential new business venture. Get a company info brochure and some
scent samples from one or more of us who are distributors, and show
them to your warm market. What is the response?

4. If people are interested in your product, you're in business! :)

5. Use all retail profit to keep yourself at least 2 COTM payments ahead
with cash reserves, and the rest for your other financial needs.

If at any time you feel this is not the right opportunity for you, there is no
obligation to continue- you can cancel your COTM membership any time.

Have FUN researching your options, and good luck!

CHOOSE Success!

Hi Purple Rain-

I just wanted to say everyone is right. This is a great company. Offers wonderful commission on retail sales and downlines if you choose to do that.

We choose Mia Bella for the great smelling candles and the way the company structured their commissions. When you have a team you couldtake a few weeks off for a vacation, and won't have to worry did we reach ourpersonal sales quota for the month to earn our commissions from our downline.

We were in that typeof company before and had to have $200 in a month to be active and $900 a month inretail sales to get any commissions from our downline. That is just too much to have to worry about. It was very stressfuland we didn't want to have to worry about that anymore. With Mia Bella we don't! Thankgoodness we have our sanity again!! smileys/smiley32.gif

We find that the $40 a month COTM is worth every penny. Often we sell the jar candle so already we made moneyback. Then wegive away the votives (only a $1 each) topotential customers and they love the way they burn and smell and call to order more. So the COTM commitment is not a problem to cover!

The retail site that is coming is if someone wants to go to your Mia Bella site (you get one free withthe purchase of your COTM) and place an order from there. The company packages it and drop ships it to the customer and you get the commission. Easy as that!

If you have any questions, please let us or anyone know how this great company might fit into your life! Email us anytime.

Good Luck!

Thank you ladies for your pm's. I see that I have alot to learn. I am most concerned about paying 40.00 a month right now.Feel free to start out as an Associate, it is free and you can always upgrade.

I dont currently work and have to watch what we spend. What time frame would you expect to make money? What do you plan on doing, home shows, retail, fundraisers? It depends on what you would like to do and your motivation.I earned a profit at my first open house/busines debut.

I know it will not happen right away.Correct, you can build up your business on your personal time schedule, but it is not a get rich quick scheme.

Can you please post here why you chose mia bella rather than the other companies on wahm.com. I was looking fora natural candle company because I have allergies and I am unable to burn most of the other brands. I like that it is a consumable product, something I use and that 96 percent of households use, and the commission and residual income is fantastic! The products arehigh quality and I truly believe in the product and the company. smileys/smiley32.gif

I think that would give me a idea of what kind of company this is. The customer service department is very helpful and as far as I am concerned go above and beyond! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley32.gif You are able to talk to everyone in the company -- even the president.

Are they family friendly? Our candles are named after a child, so how could we not?? Kids are at every fling and a part of many of our lives.

Someone mentioned that you have retail sites coming, does that mean you have to personally order each item? Right now your customers place orders through you and then you have to call in the order to the home office. A retail site would allow a customer to order directly from the company on our website.

I am confused so sorry for all the questions. Keep the questions coming, you should be well informed with any big decision.

Thank you

WOW! You ladies are so awesome to answer all those questions. I am still in the processing of researching and will be deciding on what to do.

I can tell that you all know the business as everyone is pretty much the same across the board. I have read thru some of the otherpost here and see that you all seem to get along for the most part but have readsome that seems to me like some of you do not.

I may not know home businesses but doesn't that make it bad for the company? When you post like that on a open website that anyone can join? Please do not take it the wrong way, but this is just what I have observed from reading the most recent post.

I am going to be looking over all the pm's and thru websites and seeing what information I need, to make my decision. I am gonna look at a few other candle companies as well...just to see the difference.

I appreciate everyone's help, and don't count me out yet! I just need to look around and make sure I make the best decision for my family.

Have a great night!

Oh yah are there any men reps? I have only seen ladies here...just wondering.

Hi Purple,

I am so glad that you have taken the time to get to know us all. It is nice to hear that you have gone throught many of the posts to further your research. That is a wonderful idea!

Unfourtunately, with any family there are arguments that arise. We try to keep it a minimum but sometime things happen. The board is NOT the best place for it. I work hard to keep handle on it. smileys/smiley9.gif

But do not let that stop you from researching a business that I truly believe is one of the best out there. It has truly been a blessing to me!

Good luck to you in your search hun!

Many Blessings,

Ok, wow, so how are you supposed to pick a sponsor. I have received lots of pm's and lots of information on the boards. Just curious, I can't commit to this right this second, but since you all seem to know what you are talking about. Yes I understand talking to different people and seeing who you "click" with.

Whats so different about you? Why is your team great? What can you teach me? What do you do for your new members?

Thanks again everyone! Ya'll are so nice and helpful.

Hi, Purple!I thinka sponsor is someone who will be able to answer your questions, help with ideas, and motivation. Ultimately it is your business and you can set your goals according to what is comfortable to you. Be sure to pick someone you feel comfortable with. I don't believethe sponsor is what makes yousuccessful,YOU make yourself successful. Your sponsor is there to help train, motivateand support you. I think many of us on the board are very good trainers, motivators and I know we support everyone. We are allworking our businesses.

Take care,

Debra

Hi Purple Rain,

I have to completely agree with Debra on this one. You do need to find someone that will motivate and support you but it is ultimately your business. You choose how you want to build and succeed.

Please let us know if you have any other questions! We are all here to help you!

Many Blessings,

Hi Again!

Debra said most of what I would say. Find someone you are comfortable with. Can workwith on a daily basis in the begining of your business if you needor is reachable anytime later in your business when questions arise.

Find a sponsor that has experience in what you want to do with your business. Fundraisers, retailing, home parties, sponsoring.Someone that will help you succeed in what ever you dream for your business. This is your business and you can run it any way you want.

A good sponsor will help and motivate you when you are feeling likeyou would like to take your business in another direction. We all want to succeed and want our team to be strong and happy.

Good luck to you in what ever you decide, and welcome to the Mia Bella family!
