Hello Ladies,
Just wondering if you all had any great ways to get some pre-orders before we officially start inputting parties on May 1st.
We will be able to get a catalog or two prior to our launch, so I was thinking of drumming up orders. Just wondering if you all had any great ideas for catalog parties.
Thanks in advance!

Well you could try trade shows, fairs, etc. to get future bookings as well as some orders, but are people going to want to wait for product? You'll have to be very careful in letting them know. Some will, some won't. But good luck!!

I agree with Lisa. You can talk with people about it, but there might not be many who would want to start a catalog party now, if the soonest they can expect product is sometime in May.
As that date draws nearer, it might be easier for you to generate interest in catalog parties. In fact, there are people who prefer catalog parties as opposed to actually hosting a party, so they should be thrilled to learn of this from you.
But, all in all, probably the best place to start is by having a party yourself (like an open house) so people can some see, touch, and feel some of the product and then see where bookings and catalog parties develop from there. Also, the trades and fairs are good, too. I don't know about your company, but some direct sales/party plans do not allow their consultants to sell at fairs, so check your policies on that. However, even if that's the case, it can be a great way to get the word out and book parties.

You can always host a "Grand Opening" show & invite friends to your home to take orders & show them the catalogs. Even though you won't have products to show- you can still get orders. ( I did this) and maybe have some snacks, while you're all discussing what you like in the catalog or about the company. Idea?
