What exactly does one do with them? I went to the website and saw the jobs but not the descriptions. Just trying to see if this is something i could do with my administrative assistant skills!

Mine did the same and when I went to look, for some reason when you click on the link, it puts an "E" in front of "joinus". Take the "E" out and resend. That's what I did! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif

How do you know that Parameds is hiring? I sent an email earlier in the year and they said they were not hiring but will keep my resume. Do you think that they will go from their pool or resumes or should I resubmit mine?

Sent my resume with an expressed interest cover letter. Will update as response is received (or not!). Sounds/looks like it could be a good thing.

I work for them now and I love it. They sent us an email saying they were hiring and to have any of our referrals send their resumes to joinus@parameds.com, like natfly2000 said.

they pay per case closed. cases can take anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks to close, and you have to keep them updated until they close. this could mean you are calling twice on a case...or well over 30 times. it just varies.
the work is very consistent, but it is not a quick buck to be made. its easy after you get the hang of it and get a routine going, but that can seriously take a month or longer.
it is phone work, outbound calls to medical facilities requesting medical records for patients who have applied for life insurance, long term care insurance or who have died and we need records for the death claim - and whatever other reason an insurance agency might need records for.

sandgrace..i have been with them a long time, back when they didnt hire very often so my wait was about 8 months. but right now they are actively hiring i would say give it a week or so because i am sure they are pretty slammed with resumes.
Winni-on Fridays yes you can expect to work probably around 5-6 hours because that is when we get new cases that have to be started. Sometimes Mondays can be just as busy if not worse than Fridays, but most other days you can expect to work between 2-4 hours if you are only carrying a case load of about 50-60 cases. This would also be considered around part time though

Can we limit ourselves on how many cases we take on? Or, does that just not make sense to do that? I dunno. I replied to the email saying that I would only be available 2-3 hours if they would still consider me. I'll probably be taken off the list.

Thank you for posting this lead!
Can anyone tell me what this job pays by case/average by hour? Can it be done PT- lets say 20-25 hours weekly around another job? You can PM me if you like.
Since I have a medical office background, I am working towards a career in Medical Transcription so this would be a great job to work in tandem with that.

I just got a response from Parameds. I need to know what people average in pay. I do have experience and it sounds like something I could do. If you work for them, do you like it?

With parameds do you spend the whole 6 hrs on the phone?
NATFLY2000
09-03-2008, 08:54 AM
you are calling dr offices but you can take breaks in between them. it doesnt have to be a straight 6 hours. if you get your cases done in 4 or 8 hours it doesn't matter as long as they are done.
haliesmom28
09-03-2008, 09:03 AM
Basically you call Dr's offices ask them to send records to whom ever and fax authorization forms? Then call back to make sure its been done when ever needed?
How long does one call normally last?

i dont think they want you to use cordless because ssn can be involved but you can use a regular phone or skype.
its hard to say about each call length. could be 2 minutes or could be 20. also you sometimes have to call up to 5 times a day to the same place. i worked with them for a year but now my middle child is too mobile and vocal and i have a new baby so it won't work for me. im doing other things now.

This sounds like a good opportunity for me. Does anyone know how much they pay? It appears they pay once a case is closed but not sure if that is correct. Also, how many cases can you request in a day?smileys/smiley17.gif
