I was wondering if anyone knew of any websites that you can go to and find out about different fairs and expos in their area? I missed out on booth rentals ontwo already this year and one is not until May!It seems I saw some on another post but I couldn't find it again. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I need to kick start the new year!

Thanks

I would contact your local Chamber of Commerce or Visitors Bureau.

You can also look on College websites for upcoming job fairs, and call the Department of Employment.

Good luck, I hope that helps you.

www.eventlister.com (http://www.eventlister.com)

It is where I find all the fairs that are close to me. You do not have to join to get the information, but they do encourage it.

Have a good weekend!

I was planning on doing a Bridal Fair here locally and they sent me the invite. Now on it, it states something about insurance. Do any of you know what steps I need to take and what they're talking about?

Do I need this b4 I pay for the table?

Thanks!

If a promoter requires you to carry insurance, you may want to think twice about doing that booth. Most promoters will allow you to sign a waiver that states they are not responsible if people have reactions to your product and sue you.

When I looked into insurance, it was high $$. The promoter needed to be covered as well as myself.

For me it was just too expensive. So my advice is to ask for the waiver, check into the insurance and make your own decision on it.

Bridal fairs are a great way to get leads and promote our business.

Good luck to you!

I am looking into one here too. I know before I signed a wavier of liability, but that was for a crafts fair. All states and cities have different laws governing vendors. Check with the local city office about the vendor laws for the area.

Thank you ladies! Soooo helpful as always!

This is at the local Mall. I'll have a couple weeks to think about it. Seems kinda risky though if someone has a reaction! But I guess you would have the same with a spa...

I know it would be great for bookings!

If your worried, just bring products that you think would have less reactions. Ask your director which products she thinks would be good to demo like that, because most of them hear I thinkwould of heard the horror stories. I know the trainer yesterday knew of a couple of the products that she had known people to react too. Also, I know this from other items that I use that have irratants, test products on the inside of their arm (below the wrist). Esp if they say something like I have had a bad experience with products in the past. Usually you skin turns red or they get a small rash there if they are going to have a reaction. I know that doesn't help an immediate sale, but if your trying to book. They would have tested one of your samples before you have the party and know. Let us know how it goes.

I know when I was looking into a booth, the promoter had been sued by someone who had a reaction to a cosmetic that she tried. That is why he wanted all cosmetic companies to carry this extra insurance with his name also on the policy.

I have done booths in malls and have just signed a waiver, so I would call to see if they have that available.

In 3 years, I have had one person have a reaction and that turned out to my my own Mom!
