Tell us about your Best/Favorite Hostess..

Mine was last year. A young lady(40) who held and Incredile $700+ show.

As the guest arrived, they were all asking her how she felt... I finally asked, "I'm sorry, Have you been sick this week?"

She replied, "Oh, I'm okay now. I had a Heart Attack a few days ago."

WOW...Jewelry Fanatics..what can I say!smileys/smiley17.gif

Mine is a little odd, actually. My sponsor asked me to take one of her shows b/c she was sick. So I packed up all my jewelry and raced over to the hostesses house. She answered the door (all I could hear was screaming kids). She said hi, feel free to set up wherever - I have to go outside and cool off. ??? So I started setting up, can hear the husband disciplining the kids (talking to them) and then 4 little boys race down the stairs and out the door into the car. The husband leaves, too and I'm wondering what I got myself into.

Once they were gone, she came back in and apologized. Apparently the boys got into a fight just as I got there and she was over-stressed. We started talking and she was calming down. Before I realized it - it was 15 minutes past her show time and NO ONE was there! Not ONE person showed up for her show. I felt so bad for her - she was so embarrassed.

We ended up hitting it off and had a lot in common (same age, kids the same age, etc.) Premier teaches us that the shows where nobody shows up are God's way of telling you that the Hostess needs some caring/love. So we talked and ate the food and played in the jewelry. I made a new friend! And we both felt good after the show.

She ended up getting over $400 in outside orders afterwards, but we had a really nice time talking and became friends. That is the hostess that sticks out in my mind the most. smileys/smiley4.gif

I think that my most memorable host was a younger woman(mid-twenties)
who loved our products, but was worried that she didn't have the right
set of friends to invite to her party, because none of her friends had
kids. I went through my normal hostess coaching with her and she
listened to everything I said. She invited everyone she knew and
called everyone to tell them how excited she was about the party and
about our products! She had a great turn out and had
friends/relatives of all different ages there. No one at the
party had young children, so everyone bought crafts for
themselves. I even sold a Dream Pig(our huge piggy bank) to the
host's great grandma and she told me she was going to paint it for
herself! The party had over $700 in sales and I had such a great
time at it!

I LOVE great hosts, they make our jobs so much easier!!!

One of my first hostesses, who was referred to me by a close friend, had booked a show from me after swearing off all home parties about 10 years ago. She swore she would never have another direct sales show in her life. She had a very bad experience with another direct sales company's consultant and decided she would never do it again. Well, once she saw our catalog, she said she absolutely loved everything and had to book a show. So, I was her first show in over 10 years. She had 25 people in attendance, sales of over $1,500 with 4 bookings. She is a very close friend of mine to this day. She gets so many compliments on her jewelry that she refers them to me. I give her $25 gift certificates for each referral. Our company allows us to offer gift certificates for a very minimal amount. In fact, I am doing a show this month for someone she referred to me. I absolutely love this business. I never got to be home with my son, who is now 10, but I am home with my daughter, she is 17 months old now. I am home for every holiday with my family. I have been a nurse for over 13 years and had to work every other holiday and weekend. With lia sophia, I make my own schedule and I make more than I did as a nurse.........and believe me, that was very good $$$. I have earned our first vacation this year from the company and will be taking the alternate prize of a $3,000 american express gift card and we will all be going on a family vacation for the first time ever. Thanks to lia sophia. Sorry I got a little off subject, I'm a little emotional this morning. Thanks ladies!! GREAT topic!

Hmmm....really all my hostesses have been good (okay I had one nut job oncesmileys/smiley5.gif
but her aside...). A lot of my hostesses have been gals who I
have never really met, and they make me feel so welcome at their
house..offer me a drink and some snacks, introduce me to people,
etc. I've just been lucky to have really NICE people to work with!

This did not happen to me, but it was a hostess for one of my team members - her hostess was an 8 year old little girl! She had a $1000 party - and the reason that she wanted to have a party is because she wanted "The Crown of Thorns" picture of Jesus for her bedroom! How sweet is that! Her mother is also a designer now! That little girl is also one of our future designers!
