I havea picture in my mind of Christmas Day when we were waiting for my family to arrive. I was cooking in the kitchen and looked up to see...DH had youngest DD in his lap and oldest was sitting beside him. They were playing a game plus DVD and they looked so happy. He was kissing the top of one's head...It is a picture I will always remember.

My son putting me in a good mood when I come home from work afterhaving a bad day. He'll sing and dance in front of me. My favorite sodais Dr. Pepper so he'll pop open one for me and he'll always take a few gulps in case someone tried to poison me (so he says). He's 12 years old and he says some of the darndest things.

I just had a very happy moment. My 8 week old baby girl is a preemie and only just now started to focus her eyes. Tonight she smiled at me, and did it on command thereafter..

I love to hear my 4 year old tell me I am her bestest friend.

Or when my 1 year old tells me in a complete sentence, "I'm all done now, momma"

Or when my 11 year old son scores a basket in his basketball game, and immediately looks to see if I am watching to give me a big smile!

There is a quote:

" You make a choice, and then the choice makes you."

Sometimes I have to choose to be happy in the morning. And

that choice makes me who I am that day. Which is hopefull a

loveing, peaceful, enjoyable, wife, mother , daughter and friend.

By the way, I am new to this site. Looking forward to the adventure.

smileys/smiley36.gifWhat makes me happy is discovering the magic of Disney World and sharing it with my family. When I took my husband into the Magic Kingdom for his first visit...I stopped on the side and sat him down and said...ok, remember today you are 10 years old...have the carefree no expection and innocence as if you were 10 again...he looked puzzled at me and said OK...he had the most magical time that day! Sorry for the long winded story but the thing that makes me happy is watching him tell that to each new person we take together. Ahh now I feel all warm and fuzzy. Thank you! smileys/smiley9.gif

Many things:

When my husband says he's happy in his job (when he's hated the other one for 10 years)

My daughter - countless times, when she crawls into bed and touches my face and says mama, when she picks up my shirt to check on the baby (her sister), just her talking and playing

My friends when we have to time to go for dinner (just the 7 of us)

My parents - just talking to them - hopefully they'll be around for a long time

The dog - just a great companion...

Knowing that my children are happy....

One thing that makes me feel good (I don't know about happy) is when my husband tells people his wife is hot. smileys/smiley36.gif

There are lots of little things that make me happy...the smell of honeysuckle, taking a nap smileys/smiley17.gif, cooking someone's favorite meal (especially when I like it too), going to church, and doing nice things for people and knowing they appreciate it.

Family, what a precious gift, from God. we come in all sizes ! I love being with all of them, at New Years ,both my children with their families.Itwas so great! the younger ones wanting to stay up til 12! and then wondered why,all the hugging and kisssing! The thought of it makes me so happy, since I don't get to see my families often because of distance in miles, even different country! smileys/smiley1.gif

Well, I have 7 kids and I enjoy spending time with them individually. Last Wednesday, after taking the two of the oldest to summer school and putting the youngest on his bus (he's a special needs child..PDD-Nos) I took my 7 yr old Princess to breakfast. The feeling of being able to take the time to take her out is indescribable. If I were working outside of the home...like in previous years...she would be in daycare.

I just love knowing that I can do small little things with my kids. Those are the things that they will remember and tell their kids and that I will treasure forever....

My wife andfamily makes me laugh, my mother who before she died of alzhiemers, always made me laugh and smile. My faith and reassurance in Jesus Christ makes me happy, to know one day I'll be him. seeing my wife and children smile is what really makes me happy. i think people are only truly happy when they enjoy seeing other people happy.life is about giving and not getting. the main reason why most people are not truly happy is because they focus on themselves, which is in total conflict to happiness. to be happy we must learn to focus on other people, and trying to make them happy because if you help enough people get what they want you will automatically get what you want. it's one of those true lessons of life that many people fail to learn.

What makes me happy?

There are a lot to be happy about but mostly when I get a just one new Prospect, even if it takes a long time.

When the children play hide and seek in the back yard and when they find one another they laugh so hard , I can just feel it inside.

For God's Love each day when I least expect the sunshine glowing down on my family and after days of rain.

But the Greatest happiness for us all to be happy about and to share, is that we have no war here killing all families and neighbours.

Hi Everybody,

I'm new and from Sunny South Africa. I am on cloud 9 if my Husband stops at the gate from work. We've been married now for almost 10 years, have two little girls and yet the moment he stops to open the gate or if I hadn't heard him stop, opens the backdoor my haert skips a beat.

Then when my 4 year old gives me a hug on a day I really feels down. Like she knows I'm not feeling well. My family is very precious and I would trade them for nothing on earth. Not even Money.

.... But that of course will help a lot.

I am happy when I can help or serve someone in their needs;hear a funny joke, when I am with people who are happy!

One of my habits is thinking up appropriate responses
to some of the "bait" that appears in my inbox even
though I know that it merely comes in via an
Autoresponder.Here's one example:(Subject)"Need help
with debt?" My reply, though only in my mind,"No,I can
get into it quite easily all by myself".

My wife. She is the most wonderful person that I have ever met.

My son Patrick. He is a straight shooter. He joined the Army National Guard and is going to do the same thing I did in the Air Force, accounting and finance. They are going to pay for his college at UNC Ashville + give him $700 per month.

One more day sober. I have over 2 years and 3 months now. This has changed my life dramatically.

Cruises, cruises, and more cruises on Carnival. Best vacation I have ever had.

Well, since Scott was deployed, I realize so many little things that I miss that always make me smile..........

Having our morning coffee together

Having dinner together with the kids and talking about our day

Hanging out by the pool with the kids

Of course these things still make me smile, but not quite as big. smileys/smiley19.gif

I wanted to send you all this which is really inspirational - to do with happiness and sadness. Really cool - some of you may of come across it already, if not - its worth a read:Wisdom Worth <?:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Reading</st1:City></st1:place> :<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /></PRE></PRE>Carrot, Egg and Coffee...</PRE>(You will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again....)</PRE>A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life</PRE>And how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was </PRE>Going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and</PRE>struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one</PRE>arose.</PRE></PRE>Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with</PRE>Water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. </PRE>In The first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and</PRE>In the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and </PRE>boil, without saying a word.</PRE></PRE>In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished</PRE>the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out</PRE>and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and </PRE>placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me what you see."</PRE></PRE></PRE>"Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied. Her mother brought her </PRE>Closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg. Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma.</PRE></PRE>The daughter then asked, "What does it mean, mother?"</PRE>Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the</PRE>Same adversity - boiling water. Each reacted differently.</PRE>The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after</PRE>being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became</PRE>weak.</PRE></PRE>The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its</PRE>liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water,</PRE>Its inside became hardened.</PRE></PRE>The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in</PRE>the boiling water, they had changed the water.</PRE></PRE>"Which are you?" she asked her daughter. "When adversity knocks</PRE>On your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a</PRE>Coffee bean?"</PRE></PRE>Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong,</PRE>but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose</PRE>my strength?</PRE></PRE>Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes</PRE>with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a </PRE>breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and </PRE>stiff?</PRE></PRE>Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough </PRE>with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?</PRE></PRE>Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot</PRE>water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water </PRE>gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like he bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you.</PRE></PRE>When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest, do</PRE>you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle </PRE>adversity?</PRE></PRE>Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?</PRE></PRE>May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to </PRE>Make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy.</PRE></PRE>The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of </PRE>everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.</PRE></PRE>When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was</PRE>smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is</PRE>smiling and everyone around you is crying.</PRE>

The parents are all 45 plus and it was hilarious. We all laughed so hard and had such a good time. The next day we were all stiff from "running" but every time I think of that afternoon, I smile thinking of the fun time I had with friends and with all the kids!!

Hi Cheryl,

What makes me happy today is to be reminded that I am not superhuman. I just had a bout with the flu and every organ on the inside of my body screamed with pain, and I discovered that I could not do anything about it. smileys/smiley19.gif

Because of this experience I remembered that I am not super human, and that I can feel everything that other people feel. That flu did not even ask me who I was, do I have to work or anything it just knocked down helpless for days. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley18.gif

Sometimes we get so busy we forget who is really incharge. Some things you just can't plan for. Today for the first time since last Monday, I feel good not in pain, just a little weezzzzzzing. I can even send an e-mail. Thanks for be here.http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif

Okay - here's another silly post but what makes me the happiest is when I tell my daughter how smart or great or good she is and her response is:

"Thanks mom! I know! It's really great that I am good at stuff, right?!"

To others, it may sound snotty coming out of her mouth BUT to me, she's confirming that all my fears of herhaving low confidence and being a self-hater are CRAZY!.

I'm really not CRAZY, I just grew up in a world where every woman role-model self-hated. My mom never had anything good to say about herself or any of her daughters - we were never smart enough, cute enough or fun enough for her.

As a grown adult (thank GOD) I grew out of my self-hate but my sisters still struggle with ISSUES.

So for me, to hear Breanna say: "Thanks mom! I know! It's really great that I am good at stuff, right?!" ...ALL THE TIME, it means:

"I love myself just as much as you do mom! I feel good!"

That's the BEST! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

I was really blessed to read whatall of you shared with us. Especiallythe love and joy youexperience from your childen and your family! My children are out of the nest.

My peace and joy comes from my personal relationship with Jesus, who is my best friend.

I also have wonderful friends that bring joy to me. We have fun together, just doing little thing together: working in my garden, going out to eat. going to special events together etc.

I also have two precious little dogs that keep me from getting lonely.
