View Full Version : Discounts for New Consultants?

When I signed up last month, I was told VERY PLAINLY that for my first 60 days, I would receive a 50% discount. (55% off an order placed in the first 48 hrs.) Well yesterday I went to place an order and only received a 30% discount. I called Consultant Care and was told "there are no ongoing discounts like that."smileys/smiley5.gif
I called my recruiter and told her about it, and she told me to enter our unit meeting code--which I had already done. But I was very clearly told 50% off retail orders of any size during my first 60 days.
Anyone else run into this?

Consultants receive a 50% discount once they have recruited at least 4 people. Usually with discount codes....you have a minimum retail order you have to place in order to get the discount. It's usually around $350 retail.
As far as getting 50% off your fist 60 days, you have to place a $500 retail order at BeautiU.
I hope this helps you.

Jen-
I amcopying this from my BeautiControl Consultant guide. I joined in 2005 so that is the year my guide has on the cover but I am not aware of the guide changing from year to year . I am assuming the rules still go except for special sales, etc.
Opportunities for New Consultants at BeautiU:

Becomecertified as a BeautiControl Independent Consultant.

Receive BeautiU Certificate.

Available quantities of the second half of the BeautiCase will be distributed at the end of the day.
Ordering Opportunities:

Order $1000 or more Retail at BeautiU: 55% discount on this order, Opportunity to purchase Color Confidence kit for $20 (sales aid-$130 value), Opportunity to purchase Spa Tools package for $25 (sales aid-- $160 value, ****$50 discount on all all Retail orders of any size for the next 60 days.
-OR-
Order $500 or more Retail at BeautiU: 50% discount level on this order, ****50% discount level on all Retail orders of any size for the next 60 days.

Flexible payment options

Opportunity to be entered into the monthly Client Connection drawing for a $250 Retail product package when you activate your Client Connection membership at training.
Like I said this is from the Consultant Guide-page 2.5. Iam certain that if you placed the correctRetail orders while at trainingyou shouldbe receiving the discount of 50% for 60 days- did youplace either the $1000 or more Retail order or a $500 or more Retailorder at BeautiU? If you didn't place one of those orders then the discount probably won't apply from the way I understand it. I am thinking the orders have to be placed at BeautiU to qualify. If I am wrong someone please correct me!
Maybe this will help you some- sometimes things can be confusing! Hopefully I didn't add to it. smileys/smiley5.gif
Have a great evening.

Thanks everyone...as usual, very helpful info!
I found out what happened. My recruiter was still very new when she recruited me--and she actually was confused on things, so she repeated inaccurate information to me.
No biggie. Just disappointing.smileys/smiley19.gif
I don't yet have the money to place larger retail orders. My one yesterday was only $174.00...I would love to be able to place higher orders, but I just can't yet. It'll happen though, so I'm not worried!smileys/smiley4.gif
As far as training goes, the earliest training date they had when I signed up was January 28th, so that's when I am going. Haven't gone yet. Wish I'd have the money to place orders there but I don't see that happening...
Thanks again!smileys/smiley1.gif

Don't worry about having lots of inventory on your shelves. When you first start it is hard to know what your most popular sellers are going to be. I keep 2 - 3 popular items on my shelves and some of the new product. Orders do come in for things I don't have in stock and I will place 2 orders a month sometimes.
Have a blast at BeautiU! It is so much fun!! The things you learn there will help you go far in this business.
When in doubt about what is the correct information, pleaselook it up in your consultant guide! It is the best way to get educated onall the ins and outs of the business. Come hereand ask too. Iwant you to have it straight so when you recruityou will be able to get your new consultant all the benefits that are offered when signing up.
When I went to BeautiU, I did hear some people say My recruiter didn't tell me this. They got upset...please don't do that to anyone you bring in the business. We want them to be happy!

Jennifer,
At BU, they offer many different packages and deferred payment!! Hopefully, you'll find something that works for you. Just go with a list of needs/wants already b/c placing an order with a blank mind can be overwhelming and take extra time. They will also have TONS of different products to try at BU. Have fun! (Bring something to munch on during, too).

Jennifer,
Just get what you can afford to get, and maybe the one who signed you up could help with your first couple of parties. By bringing her products to show of what you don't have in your demo case. Then your customers place their order of something you don't have, you could just buy one of that product for yourself. Then you would have them in your demo case. Also, ask your director what she also thinks are the top sellers, she sells the most of etc., and pick a couple of those items. Don't buy what you already get in your demo pack unless you know you are going to sell it. Its nice to have it on hand, but most people know you are just taking orders at the parties. Good luck and don't get discouraged.

OOPs, thats one mistake the trainer yesterday made. I don't remember her bringing this up at all:

Opportunity to be entered into the monthly Client Connection drawing for a $250 Retail product package when you activate your Client Connection membership at training.

Can I cry now? LOL

Jennifer,
I would like to encourage you to go to your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, etc. with catalogs and some of the products you've already received and let them sample. Or better yet, invite them all over to introduce them to your new business and your products. Book spas and get sales. You've still got two weeks before your training and if you can get $500 in sales you can place that order at BeautiU and then receive 50% for the following 60 days.
If you have any questions or if there is anything that I can do to help just pm me. I know all the other ladies here are willing to help out as well! smileys/smiley4.gif

I actually did do this! hehesmileys/smiley36.gif At Christmas, I took my BeautiCase down to my mom's and let her and my sisters just go thru it, trying this, smelling that, etc. My mom was impressed and she did book a spa for Jan. 22nd, and I expect to do pretty well at it. I hope!smileys/smiley5.gif

I have also shared it w/friends and received three orders that way, though they weren't huge orders (the largest one was $15.50.) But they all said that if they were pleased w/what they got, they'd definitely order more things! One lady was not happy w/her eyeliner...it was the smoke one...and she said it was too light. But so far the others have been pleased. I have another friend (well, my sis-in-law) who has a laundry list of things she wants!smileys/smiley32.gif But she can't afford them. I hate hearing about consultants who feel this way. You are right, she will not be in business too long with that attitude! Personal sales to get commissions every month is $450 retail. That's a lot of products she is going to be using! Her clients get wind of what she is up too and they will find another consultant.
My Director's Director works her business just like I do. That is how they understand what we are going thru because they too are consultants. They are recruiting and building their businesses just like us.
The best thing you can do is have fun! Business is fun! Your recrutier may be burnt out. Passions do change over time too. I call it the been there done that attitude. You are doing the right thing by remaining positive and going for it! New consultants are so much fun! Your enthusiasm gets me all excited too!
Keep up the good work and keep coming here with questions, etc!

Tell your friends that have long lists, they can get those things just by being a hostess. I do the $100 for $49 if they get 2 bookings and $250 in sales. It works! And then the girls at the spas see all that the hostess gets and they want it too! It's just a snowball effect. I had slow days at X-mas, but took it as a "break" and now things are picking up again. De-stress after the holidays!!

I wonder how your recruiter is getting allof herrecruits. Most of mine have come from my spas so I can't imagine not doing them. What bothers me even moreis the negativity that she is passing on to her downline. She should be encouraging all aspects of the business as they all work together to make a successful business. And Vicki pointed out that she has to place a $450 order per month to get her commissions but that is just the minimum commission. If she wants to move up in the company and make an unlimited commission she'llwant to become a director and the minimum just for DIQ is higher than that.
Ok, I'm off my soapbox now! smileys/smiley1.gif Fortunately, I've met more encouraging consultants than negative.
Ditto to Vicki ... your excitement is contagious! If you continue making daily contacts and speaking to everyone you meet you'll do great! That's something that I still have a hard time with. But I'm determined to get over my fear of rejection!!! smileys/smiley4.gif
Blessings to you and your new business!!!
