No longer with Verafast. It is a good company I believe but I lasted 6 wks and could not handle theups and downs on the paycheck. My ICC was wonderful and so was her staff.http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley32.gif I needed a reliable paycheck and after 6 wks mine just kept going down. The largest ck I had was the first one. Guess the work just wasnt for me. Need a job where I am paid by the hour and I can budget my ck accordingly. Good luck to everyone else. I did not leave Verafaston a "bitter note" just needed to move on. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gifNow averaging $9.00/hr and that will do for me.

I as well am no longer with Verafast. I now have an hourly non phone job and I love it! That is what I initially wanted anyways. Best of luck to you all!!!!!!!!!!

I will keep in touch thx Carolina2. With the hrs I can work tho not alot of extra time. Keep the forum upbeat ! I have certainly enjoyed it! Alot of good advice. There isnt a folder here however for the co I work for and there is another forum where there is one. Good to communicate with your piers and all that! I have been working for verafast a couple of weeks and am very bored with the job too. For 4 years i was doing calls for infomericals which keep me busy and was different calls. Mainly with verafast its ansewering machines and people who dont speak english.

I'd contact your ICC.I thinkthey start having new people attend webinars after they've been calling for 2-3 weeks. If you're getting bored, I'd ask her if you can start attending them soon.

AND NOW THE REAL VENT , I ONLY GET ANSWERING MACHINES NOW FOR 4 HOURS STRAIGHT WASUP WITH THAT????? i log in for four hours and i kid you not out of those four hours , i have talked to exactly4people of which all four said NO , now that is really a big twist in the calls lately , and its been like that really the past two weeks , PAYCHECKS HAVE DROPPED DRAMATICALLY , no one is saying YES , only no's if i get a yes its maybe after THE THIRD DAY AND THE 300TH CALL , I PUT IN ABOUT 20 TO 25 hours per week , and now walking away with less than a 100 bucks ,im beginning to understand why they dont have at least 10 verifiers whos been there for at least a year , most companies of this nature normally have at least a 100 employees , with good stats and long term employment , there employees are dropping like flies , hope everything gets better and pick up , cause this is ridiculous. and NO I DONT NEED NO ONE CORRECTING ME IN WHAT I JUST SAID , i spoke the truth and what i was going through okay THANKS!!!

How about the 30 seconds between calls...that is the worst! Click your mouse, wait, click your mouse, wait. Makes an hour seem like forever. I'm beginning to think outbound is not my thing, but I'm hoping it'll change now that my daughter has started school. Hard to smile after 50 calls and no answers...lol.

Did you talk to your ICC or call production about the issues you are having? Angela, which system are you on? If it's touchstar, perhaps there aren't open lines when you're trying to log on? I'd check with your ICC or tech support though. Maybe it's something in your computer settings.
And I know you won't want to hear this Angela but since you seem to enjoy speaking the truth, please allow me the same consideration here. Happy is right. There are far more than 10 verifiers that have beenwith VAFlonger than one year.

When I was on touchstar I was having the same problems. I contacted my ICC and she stepped me through my setup. As it was I did not have my Active X files set up correctly??? She helped me with it and I didnt have any problems after that. In telemarketing jobs (and we cannot get around that it is what we are) you are going to have ups and downs. You may want to change your hours? days? Sometimes it is good to work a split shift if you can. If you can get away for awhile it makes you feel better to go back at it. Just keeping in touch! You bring up a good point about choosing the best times to work. I know if I try to work Saturday nights after 6pm it's REALLY slow! Now, if Angela was working 4 hours say Saturday night from 5-9pm and there was no one to contact since the office is closed and there is no tech support, I can see why she *could* have only gotten 4 calls in 4 hours. However, I still think she needs to contact someone for some checking on her settings and such.
But you know, every week is different. I called one Saturday night about 4 weeks ago or so when an email went out about Verafast having a lot of extra work and I did pretty good between 6pm-7pm. During these weekend open calling hours it's really touch and go. If you get on and in an hour only get one person to answer I would just stop and try later.
I also hear from some people I talk to that they have recently changed some of their hours from mostly daytime hours to add in some evenings and weekends to bring up their credits. I think this is a really smart idea. This is when I usually work because I know more people are home nights/weekends. I don't like to waste my time.

Hi Happyday! Yes I agree! I tried the split shift on Sat. Worked in the morning and then again in the evening. Also usually did pretty good on Fri nights for some reason.smileys/smiley14.gif Many Fri nights I was also able to stay on until late. I think it is because other people would log off and they would send me messages asking me to stay on. Good to hear from you. Been working my buns off what with watching the grandgirls in the day and working 6pm to 12pm Mon through Fri. smileys/smiley36.gif

Its summer, people just aren'thome. That isn't a tech issue. There is no Verifier "stat" website. There is a Verafast Corporate website though, which I found by accident awhile back. www.verafast.com (http://www.verafast.com)
What I just don't understand is how people are getting 96% answering machines and I'm not. I guess it's just that I'm working during mostly all prime time hours when people are at home. If I was getting 96% answering machines I'd quit in one minute.

No, I never said there was a stat website or that it was secret. I said it was the Verafast Corporate website and I found it by accident one time when I was trying to get information on a project and put .com instead of .net and I got the site. I don't have any "secrets", the website is open for anyone to view.
Anyway, I have no real suggestions except to work the prime time hours. I don't really work outside of prime time unless I have to make up some time over the weekend during the open calling times. I just have been to all of the webinars and I know how to do every call that there is and I know this because I asked my ICC why I don't get invited to webinars anymore and she said I had been to all of them. It's just dedication, that's all. I put in my time in training, I don't make a lot of errors, but when I do I listen to the emails I get with corrections on them and fix it on my end. If a person works for Verafast and never goes to the training webinars and doesn't work a lot of prime time hours then they are going to fail. When you know how to do the higher paying accounts things change so much.
As far as working 40 hours a week, I was told we cannot do that. I don't know but I'm going to ask my ICC. You are saying you have a 40 hour schedule with Verafast? This sort of ticks me off if so because I was told no.

You know wonderfulllife this is why I stop coming on here. I'm trying to be sincere but you are reading into everything being sarcastic saying I'm a "special case" and crap like that. It seems like people on here always think that those of us who want to help have a secret agenda. Maybe there are some that do, I cannot tell you that. I can't tell you if Verafast is on this site or whatever. All I know is that I am an independent contractor like everyone else, I just do my homework.

I'm not special. As a matter of fact I have a very low self-esteem. I'm working on that. I don't need to come on here and feel worse about myself. I come here to feel better about myself because all I have in my life is my kids and my job with Verafast since my husband passed. I feel good when I can come here and help people but it just doesn't seem like that's ever possible. Everyone just wants to fight and put people down. It's one thing to have a discussion, but the sarcasm and stuff is just wrong. How can you be a successful customer service representative if you can't treat people like human beings on a messageboard? I think it's a crying shame.

Issue: If you are starting out only calling yellowpages, you are going to get answering machines.
Stated solution: quit calling for the night or quit all together.
work more hours, which I know you can't have 40 hours, but I work at least 6 hours a day 6 days a week. Its frustrating for a beginner. I remember what that was like. Don't you, or did you have perfect days on your first or 2nd week.

That's right. You start out slow but you have to remember that your first 3 weeks Verafast gives some sort of supplemental credits to the verifiers. I do not know the specifics, I guess I could search the website but I am running out of steam with all of this at this point. So I know Verafast is trying to help out with the "slowness" at the beginning. You have to get off of theyellowpages calls. It would be my suggestion if you are working 3 weeks or more to contact your ICC about learning new calls if you have not already received any invitations to webinars. I think sometimes ICCs need reminding because my ICC says she has a very large number of people to take care of so you don't want to fall through the cracks.
But that's the thing here, you have to take responsibility for YOUR job. This is like my own business to me. That's why I asked my ICC about going to more webinars, I am proactive like that and I wondered what I was doing wrong that I never got invited to anymore. But once you know all the calls I guess you gotta wait for them to do different types of calls and start a new webinar!!!

If a person is willing to give it their all and just try to hang in there and see the light at the end of the tunnel then the pay can be great! But also the ICCs should be telling these people this, that there is more than yellowpages and it will come as soon as they are ready. I started a long time ago but people I talk to tell me that it's 3 weeks then they usually start getting webinar invites.

It takes a lot of time and building of skill to get fast and make the money. Our skill has a lot to do with it too. The faster you can do the calls while also doing them correctly is very important to our income.

Thank you Happyday I just did what I was told to do. I really believe that people on this forum are paronoid ?sp Everyone thinks that there are alot of people on her from Verafast mgmt. Remember people there is such a thing as "senior" customer service reps who have been in the action a long time. They are here to help offer any help they can but go to your ICC first.
If you can get past the initial learning curve and take more calls you will receive more contacts. That only makes sense.
I did not stay with Verafast because I had to have a dependable paycheck to survive in this old world. (old like me lol)
I knew it would take at least another 6 weeks with Verafast to receive the amount I needed. I could not wait and found another opportunity.
I belong to two other forums that have a folder for the company that I presently work for and I only check out this site once in awhile.

Thanks Grams. I hope someday you come back to Verafast. You are the kind of nice person we need representing our company. Maybe if your other job ever falls through you could come back and jump in with experience and start making the money you need a lot faster. I agree withmost peoplebeing paranoid here. There are some people in this world who just want to help others--like you and me. I mean, you don't even work for the company any more and you are here helping out. That says so much about your ethics and values--that you have no agenda you just want to help.
I'm sure your ICC was sorry to lose you. I do hope (again) that someday you come back and grace the company with your knowledge and good sense.

Awwwww! Thank u so much HappyDay! I really do miss Verafast and especially the people. Hopefully I may be able to come back later once I am financial a little more stable. lol I did enjoy the work. Maybe once the little one is a little older I could work a few hours during the day?? Don't know she's two now and a handful. But I love it! Right now I am working around 35 hours a week and couldn't possibly fit in another 15. Phew makes me tired to think about it.
I am still taking my Sunday off like my ICC @ Verafast suggested. It is good to take a day and just reflect for awhile. Makes me want to get back at it on Monday!

K I feel I need to step in here. I agree with someone who stated we have our ups and downs as far as all telemarketing business go. We all have good days and bad. ..Are you training for webinars? Geez, I have been with verafast for a yr and a half and love it. If I got a problem I go to my ICC and you know what she handles it very well.
If you are bored, well then obviously something is wrong, either you are not doing various projects or you haven't tried working different hours.
Come on now peeps. This is really lame here. We all have complaints with any job we work right? If there is an issue call your ICC, they can help resolve any of your issues.
And as far as 96% answering machines. Well somethings wrong there. I don't think that one would work a whole shift with that many. Seriously If I go 30 min with answering machines I switch projects or systems or take a break.
Then again those that are complaining this much are obviously not cut out for the job and should be working else where where their misery is more justified.

WELL MY GOODNESS I WAS JUST VENTING PEOPLE , DIDNT MEAN TO GET ALL THOSE REPLIES LOL, WELL ON THE SERIOUS NOTE , TO REDBLANKET , YES I HAVE BEEN ON SEVERAL HOURS AND ONLY GOTTEN ANSWERING MACHINES AND HAVE TALKED TO AN AVERAGE OF 4 PEOPLE NOT ONCE NOT TWICE BUT SEVERAL TIMES, AND I STATED I DIDNT WANT ANYONE TO CORRECT ME , CAUSE ONLY I AND THE ICC AND THE SYSTEM KNOWS MY STATS, BUT WHAT I AM SAYING IS THAT I AM STRUGGLING , IT IS HARD , AND I HAVE BEEN WITH THE COMPANY FOR A FEW MONTHS NOW im not sure if you all call that a beginner but i believe its been about 3 months , maybe 2 in a half at the least , and i have attended all the webinars gotten trained on all the new calls , and i know how to do them all , i do struggle sometimes with the one where you have to offer the credit card if a n or y is in the box , see i dont even know when to offer it , i normally end up skipping it and not realizing it until the call is OVER , which sucks for me , those calls do make me nervous , i didnt want an attack , i just wanted some advice , some help , and whenever im on i look at the agents and i have NEVER EVER SEEN MORE THAN 20 TO 25 PEOPLE LOGGED ON , I EVEN WROTE NAMES DOWN , I WORK MORNING SHIFTS , NIGHT SHIFTS AND WEEKEND SHIFTS , SO TO SAY 100 PEOPLE , I BEG TO DIFFER , unless those other 80 are on totally different systems than preditive dialer/touchstar-i have had personal conversations with other verifiers who faced the same problems and we are trying to help each other through these situations unfortunately some have quit , i m still here , just trying to do my job and make it better for me , thats all , and im just saying im at thepoint that i DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO , ANYMORE!!!

I have contacted my ICC and she has attempted numerous times, and so far she has not been too successful- my system sometimes run very slow , i normally have a split shift-2 in ahalf hours at one time and i was getting so many answering machines or hangups. i had no idea of why no one is saying yes what so ever or hanging up immediately it was like a transformation from the first month, i ve been with the company longer than you and im experiencing it as well , the first 2 weeks well 3 weeks were great , then everything went away like magic.so i can say i know howyou feel . i attend most of the webinars not all, but most, and i told myself that i was not gonna quit , that i prayed it gets better , so im just waiting for the better to arrive , but it has truely been very bad lately, been cursed out 6 times within 2 weeks , i mean i was called the n word , the b word , and the mf , but since i have done telemarketing before , i have very tough skin - so i actually laughed because it was their ignorancy and not mine, but hang in their angela , and i will pray that it gets better for you as well

ONE MORE THING dont get me wrong my ICC is great!, she did everything she could , she gave me new hours to work to see if it made a difference , ( it didnt) , she listened to several of my calls , and stated i do a great job on the phone , i dont mess up , i know my work , but i could carely get the first sentence out of mymouth before tons and tons of hangups , ( she noticed that) , with my system , we did adjustements to speed it up ( didnt work) verafast system was still running extremely slow, i upgraded my computer and ran test, ( didnt work) she made sure i attended certain webinars for different calls, she even practiced on the phone with me , so thats why i say she was great! , but nothing is working , so i dont know if my voice is turning peopleoff now(lol) or what-just hoping for a turnaround as well.

Angela--no one is correcting you--I think for some reason other people are not having the same issues. And that's what seems to be boggling our minds (or at least that's what I'm getting from other posts). Your ICC I'm sure is great just like Tammie's but they are not technical support either. Maybe you need to call them and tell them what's going on. If it were me after going along so well then all of a sudden *boom* it's different then I'd look for help. If the ICC can't fix it then we need someone who can.

Would be more than happy to answer that i said i attend CERTAIN ONES because , for one , verafast is not my complete life , i have an outside life- certain times that their are webinars , i am out on my other job-certain times that their are webinars - i am in school seeking my MASTERS DEGREE-certain times that their are webinars i am attending my KIDS school sports activities which seems to fall every single time their is a webinar on weekday nights- certain nights their are webinars , I am in bible study at my church , I ENJOY WORKING but no sacrafice is greater than GOD UP ABOVE I MUST GIVE HIM HIS TIME FIRST AND FOREMOST and my kids - so i make all the sacrafices i can to be able to ATTEND SOME WEBINARS i use verafast as a source of extra money-not to complete my life-I TRUELY HOPE THAT I ANSWERED YOUR QUESTION! if not then ask someone else to explain it!

thisis the reason so many people decide to quit or leave this forum because every single time someone comes here to voice their own true opinionor their unique experiences , they get bashed or criticized or corrected- or looked at as if they are lying- sometimes people just want others to hear them out , and uplift them instead of knock them-sometimes what you say to others can make a world of difference in their day of work or their day alone-kindness goes a long way-if nothing else just attempt to be kind to others -hear them out and respond in a way as if you were in their shoes -most of us here are woman , so lets try sticking together , showing love and support to one another , and put all the other stuff behind you.-its not always what you say but how you say it , that can make a world of difference have a blessed day and i wish you all much luck on your continued success

LOL--Tammie I think you may have too much on your plate. Two jobs, school, kids, etc. If you can't devote the time (of course this is not your fault that there are only 24 hours in a day) then the success won't come. Maybe that is the bottom line here and the answer to all the questions in this thread. If you are trying to do so many other things and Verafast is not close to the top of your list then the results will not be the same as other people who are not going to school, working another job, etc.

You know wonderfulllife this is why I stop coming on here. I'm trying to be sincere but you are reading into everything being sarcastic saying I'm a "special case" and crap like that. It seems like people on here always think that those of us who want to help have a secret agenda. Maybe there are some that do, I cannot tell you that. So there you have it right from the corporate website. Do I think ANY company would lie about that stuff on the net? No. This is read by their clients I'm sure and the clients could verify this information if they wanted to.

I haven't had a a vacation in 2 years, because I've had college classes and 60 hour work weeks, no I don't work the full 60 hours at verafast, I also work another data entry job 30 hours a week, 30 hours at verfast, 30 at the data entry job.which I make more at, and I get paid for everything I do. I don't do work there and not get paid for it. Thats the only issue I have withverafast, and a lot of people do.

Which El Paso Times call are you talking about?There are several differentEl Pasocalls. But you don't need to be bilingual to do any of them.

its the one that says Hi this is tammie calling for the elpaso times is the _residence, the reason im calling is to let you know that our carriers would like to leave you a two week trial of the elpaso times , then it says about 4 50 per month for 3 months and so forth and so on , the reason im asking is because , every single person , well out of about every 20 contacts maybe 1 speaks english , thats why i was wondering , where i suppose to be doing those calls , cause i cant get past the first sentence they immediately say""they dont speak english" so i attempt to get someone on the phone that speaks english "" and never any luck because its a spanish spoken household on most of them. just wondering , was i assigned the right calls lol , ,

I've worked that one before. There isn't a webinar for it. They did change the credit for it-it's worth 13! I think it's because the yeses are few and far between.

Yeah, those are the trial plus calls. They changed the credits? Excellent! I didn't know that.
But I've had the same problem with those calls too. The call itself is ok. If I can get someone who speaks English I can get some yesses. But the challenge is getting someone who speaks English (or at least admits they speak English. I sometimes think they tell you that to get you off the phone :)

yea i think so too carolina , because one day i said i was calling for the elpaso times , and they said no hable englis , then i said " so you dont speak english " she said " no " so i asked two more questions reguarding if someone is there for me to speak to , and she answered both , so i preceeded and she understood everything i said and accepted the offer, at the end i started laughing , so yea they just say that to get off the phone , but those are some funny calls , well goodluck everyone , love the post tammie created about clearing the air , she said a lot of positive things that i will too follow , but goodluck all on your calls today

I had a call last night that reminded me of this thread (the "non-English" issue we've talked about). I was calling Chicago stops and a woman answered the phone. I could hear the tv blaring loudly in the background (in English.). I asked her why she'd had her paper stopped. She made me repeat it, then handed the phone over to her husband and I heard her say "it's the paper". I then asked him why it had been stopped, he said "No English" and hung up on me. Their TV was broadcasting in English, they spoke to each other in English, the wife understood me just fine in English-yet they spoke "no English?" Lol.
