Google banned one of my other sites....I can't remember the URL to appeal this decision and I can't find it. Anyone have it on hand?

var SymRealOnLoad;
var SymReal;

Sym()
{
window.open = SymWinOpen;
if(SymReal != null)
SymReal();
}

SymOnLoad()
{
if(SymRealOnLoad != null)
SymRealOnLoad();
window.open = SymRealWinOpen;
SymReal = window.;
window. = Sym;
}

window.onload = SymOnLoad;

I have the same question as chrlstoncharmed...how do you know they've banned your site? Did they contact you?<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

To find out if your site has been banned google this

site:www.widget.com

(substituting widget with your url)

if it returns "did not match any documents" you will need to investigate.

So, they don't notify web site owners when they ban a site....they just do it?

01-12-2006, 09:23 AM
Evidently. Your first bet would be to check the spider visits regularly. If you're not getting them from google, there may be a problem.

Plus, I think with the number of sites created daily, and thereby the number of sites banned, there may be too many to notify each and every one.

That "site:" tip is very handy, thanks.

I created a site for a friends kielbasa shop. When you search it
by Yahoo for "kielbasa" or "smoked kielbasa" its in the top 5.

If you search with Google it's probably in the first 500!

I'm not sure why!!

I've heard google is more "picky" when it comes to indexing your site. Yahoo and Msn spider almost everything, thats why google is the #1 engine. Quality vs Quantity.

Could I get the link PMed to me? When I do the site: thing, or even just a regular search Google is not indexing my site. smileys/smiley13.gif

Digimom...tried to reply to your pm but it said your inbox is full.

When I do the site thing this is what I get:

Your search - site:www.cakegreetings.com - did not match any documents.

How long has your site been live?

Lori, I looked at your page source and I don't see any meta information - description, keywords, etc. <!--
var SymRealOnLoad;
var SymReal;

Sym()
{
window.open = SymWinOpen;
if(SymReal != null)
SymReal();
}

SymOnLoad()
{
if(SymRealOnLoad != null)
SymRealOnLoad();
window.open = SymRealWinOpen;
SymReal = window.;
window. = Sym;
}

SymRealOnLoad = window.onload;
window.onload = SymOnLoad;

//-->

She's using a canned cart system from a designer selling packages. Inow wonder if that lady is putting meta tags in any ofthose sites? The designer has no profile available, so I can't verify the other clients sites for meta tags.

OK, I see the whois data now.

Lori, your site only went live on January 11th. It may take a while to index, especially with no meta info. You should contact your designer and have her input that data ASAP. It will get you indexed quicker.

I'm just echoing WebInfoMom ... your designer needs to help you set up your meta tags in the header.inc.php file. <!--
var SymRealOnLoad;
var SymReal;

Sym()
{
window.open = SymWinOpen;
if(SymReal != null)
SymReal();
}

SymOnLoad()
{
if(SymRealOnLoad != null)
SymRealOnLoad();
window.open = SymRealWinOpen;
SymReal = window.;
window. = Sym;
}

SymRealOnLoad = window.onload;
window.onload = SymOnLoad;

//-->

Thanks everyone! I was actually thinking along those lines yesterday, with the meta tags missing. I've looked at a couple other sites using the same system and none of them have meta tags either, but some are showing up in a google search (guessing they've been around quite a bit longer then). I'll check into the meta tags and give Google some more time to get me indexed.
