Hi,
I'm setting up my website and I've never done an ecommerce one before so this is new territory for me.
My host provides either OsCommerce, Agora or Paypal carts. My question is
1.what is the difference between OsCommerce and Agora?
2. Is the shopping cart all I need or do I have to sign up with a 3rd party for a merchant account?
I have more questions, I just can't think of them right now smileys/smiley5.gifI've tried reading up on this but I'm a learn as you do it kind of person and I just don't get what I've read. I might as well have been reading Chinese.
Please help!

I've never used Agora but I really loved OSCommerce when I used it. I used a 3rd party merchant account with OSCommerce but you MIGHT be able to use PayPal as the payment processor. You should give PayPal a call and ask them about that.
Otherwise I had my 3rd party merchant account with Card Services International.

I'm not sure about Agora, but I have a lot of experience with oscommerce. It isn't easy at first, so take comfort!
You have a choice of payment modules with oscommerce. You can use Paypal as a processor, or authorize.net, iPayment, 2Checkout, PSiGate, SECPay, etc. So there are choices. They are all installed in the admin section of the oscommerce store and you just select which one/s you will be using and add the required information.

window. = Sym;
}

Hi Sara,
With Agora and Oscommerce you will need a third party merchant account. They are just the shopping cart. Paypal is all in one - shopping cart plus merchant account.
