View Full Version : Candle Wicks

I have found wicks that work great with my votives and small containers. They don't seem to produce any soot and they are burning the candle all the way out to the sides... However, in my larger containers (10 to 26 oz. jars), my biggest wicks don't seem to create a big enough burn pool to reach the sides of the jar. They leave behind a lot of wax on the sides. I kind of feel like double wicking my jars would be "cheating." Does anyone have any thoughts on using two wicks in each jar or any suggestions on where I could find larger wicks that do not soot?

Thanks guys,

Sherri

Hi Sherri,

I get all of my supplies from CW, so I am spoiled. It leaves the guesswork out of it!

You might want to try calling your supplier. They should be able to recommend something. Or, try the candle boards on candle cauldron.

Good Luck!

The company I sell for, Bittersweet Candles uses double wicks in their jar candles. My guess is that it's probably so the candle will burn completely. There is no tunneling and no wax left over with the double wicks. That might be the best way to go. I know more and more candle companies are double wicking.

I Have to agree with Tamra also.

Mia Bella only has double wicks in their jar candles for a more even burn. No tunneling, and burns down almost to the bottom every time!

I think this is the best way to go!smileys/smiley2.gif
