Ladies, I just wanted to quickly share with you what I was able to create this weekend. I hope you all take a minute and try to use this idea. It was a very rewarding and heartwarming experience.
I recently met a lady online who had lost her son to a condition known as HPE. She is the founder of an organization that supports other parents going thru this. They were holding the annual convention in my state this past weekend, and she wanted to know if I would be interested in pampering and relaxing some of the moms, most who were from out of state.I did not hesitate. I ended my vacation 2 days early to come back for the event. I was there for over 8 hours and pampered over 25 much deserved women. These women were the moms, grandmas, sisters, and caretakers of these very sick children. Many had not been away from their child to do anything for themselves in years. This was a blessing for them. I can not tell you how much pride I felt as I left that hotel and knew that I had just touched so many lives, if only for a few minutes. Some of the women did not know where to sit their purse when they walked in to my "spa room" as they had always had a wheelchair with them. Some mentioned how they had to purchase new clothes for the weekend, because most of their shirts had "wheelchair holes" across the stomach area from where they are constantly pushing.
I met so many amazing and awesome mommys! These ladies deserve so much more than what I was able to provide, yet I am so glad they each touched my heart.
I encourage you to seek out a similar group and donate your time and your blessing of Beauticontol and share it with them. It will change your perspective in so many ways!
Have an amazing day!

That's really great Christy. I think that is why I love BC so much! It is not just giving out order forms and saying "buy this", we actually provide a service and who knows how badly someone needs what we can offer them.

Christy, that is a great testimony!
I am doing something similar to what you did. Just a little back ground. My Dad is in the Army National Guard and his deployed to Iraq for the 2 time. It is 3 deployment since 2001. I am not saying this for you to feel sorry for my family. But I was praying the other day about what I could do for the ladies who have loved ones who are deployed in Iraq. And I was quickly reminded of the Military Family Support Groups in Arkansas. So I called the main office and got the names of the ladies that were over their support group. I got 6 different cities in Central Arkansas and I have contacted the one in my city. I am going to do spas for the ladies who have loved ones in Iraq with my Dad's unit. I am even going to provide child care during my spas because the ladies might not have access to child care. I am not asking them to buy anything because that is not the purpose of my spa but if they do I am going to give a military discount. The ladies go through so much...I know I have seen my Mom go through 3 deployments. I feel really blessed to be able to do something for these ladies. I have a connection with these ladies because we all have someone we love in Iraq.
I think this is not only going to be a Blessing to these ladies to be pampered and relaxed but also to me knowing that with my business I am able to help ladies out in need of something we offer.

That's very touching! I have a standing appointment at the women's emergency shelter to pamper the women once a month. They have a new group of abused women every 3 weeks, so it's always a new group. I couldn't think of anyone who needs some love and pampering more! I usually bring a member of my team with me to help and learn more of how to do spas.
What a great thread!

I was so moved by the event, I am working on donating my time monthly to another organization. I also took a new recruit who was "not" going to do any Spa's... on the drive home she changed her mind.

Beautilady - I am doing the same thing this weekend. I'm kind of nervous, but very excited. This will be the first Spa Day at our unit, we hope to do it on a regular basis. :-)
