Has anyone ever used the balancing cream to help clear up acne?

anyone?

After I listened to the Learn N Burn on the CA system, it got me thinking if that would be a good idea to get some people on...?

Thanks for any help!

I just ordered some prolief to help with break outs (mainly around my period) and to assist with PMS in general. I sure hope it works! These pimples are driving me batty!! smileys/smiley36.gif I'll let you know how it goes!

Avoid the PhytoProlief, though. The phyto-estrogens in that formula can exacerbate acne. Stick with the regular Prolief in the blue label.<!--

Dr. Lee actually reccomends to continue using it if you find out you are pregnant, because a sudden drop in progesterone signals the uterine lining to slough off. He says to keep using it until you are done with the first trimester, because by then, the baby is making enough progesterone to sustain the pregnancy.

You can read that on the rbon board in the files or in his books, I got them from the library.

Congrats by the way, and good luck!

Yes, you're supposed to keep using it. The regular (blue) Prolief is safe during PG and BF'ing. <!--

Thanks! Good to know! I wasn't ever that faithful about using it. I'm breastfeeding twins, and get a lot of hot flashes. I used on days when my hormones reminded me to, and it always really helped me.Anyway, it's good to know I don't have to stop.

Thanks again!

i have a question for those of you using the prolief -- when are you supposed to start using it? I bought some because I have thyroid problems and I thought since the prolief is a hormone balancer it would help some of the problems i have experienced with my thyroid. From what I've gathered off of many of the posts, you only use it to help with menstrual issues. I can't find a lot of informaiton on the arbonne website to really know this product and its uses/benefits. Any comments are appreciated!

Thanks!

Chrissy,

I purchased Dr. Lee's "What your doctor may not have told you about premenopause" and it has helped me out greatly. There's a separate chapter just devoted to how to use the cream. There are a lot of different ways/times to use it, depending on what symptoms you are trying to relieve.

Chrissy, the prolief can be used for other hormonal issues including thyroid imbalance. Let me share some advice from my own experience, though -

my thyroid is on the low side of normal (I just had some testing done). I have been a Prolief user for many years, but for whatever reason (I got lazy?), I decided I didn't need it anymore. Well, everything went downhill from there. A ton of thyroid symptoms came crashing down on my until I found that I couldn't even function normally.

I'm following my Dr's advice and I'm also back on my progesterone cream. I'm still having some trouble, but I've only been using it again for 2 months. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that if you start using a natural option like progesterone cream, you could be using it for the long haul. I know I never want to go through this again, so I'll be sure to always have my Prolief on hand.

One more thing .... progesterone cream has been known to raise thyroid levels, so if you are already taking synthroid or armour, check with your Dr about using progesterone cream and be sure to get your levels re-tested so your Dr can administer the correct dosage of medication. You definitely don't want to screw that up. <!--

Thank you both! My thyroid a year ago was hyperactive and I had radioactive iodine therapy to control it -- instead it made my extremely hypothyroid. My levels are in the teens and I am on the highest dosage of synthryoid. I go to my endo again in a couple of weeks and think i will bring the prolief with me and get her thoughts -- but honestly - i'd rather take something natural than not so I really thnk i'm going to try it..anything will help at this point! Thanks again!

My experience is that most Doc's will prescribe meds instead of natural remedies! The pharmacutical companies spend millions to get these Docs to use their meds.

My rvp suggested I use the cream for the three weeks I am not on my period. I have been lax about using it tho & I can sure tell! Haven't slept all night for a few weeks!

You all may know this but I didn't and it pertains to the Prolief. I went to some training this weekend and was told if the breakouts are nose level and under (and mine are around the chin area) that they are hormone related. I had not been using my Prolief like I should but had a majorly bad breakout this month during period. I assume it was because my period was abnormally long and therefore a huge hormone surge. Anyway, I started using my Clear Advantage rather than RE9 and nothing helped. Then I used the Prolief and now it's cleared up. I am certain mine was hormone related. You may want to use thisas you present the product. It would certainly have an effect on people I know.

One of the main things they stressed at our training was that stories often work better than facts. I am sure there are some people that want the facts but many people are drawn in by testimonials so it's always nice to stock up on those!

So Katherine, do you use the proleif just when you are breaking out, or for the three weeks as suggested.

My sis is a ob/gyn nurse practioner & will not try the hormone cream. She has hormonal breakouts every month! I am trying to convince her to give ita try! She has an IUD & says that that gives off progesterone so she does not need extra! I knolw this wuld help her alot!!!

Arbonnebev, I am going to PM you. I doubt everyone on the board wants to hear my gyno history!
