This makes me sad, though it opens up some great opportunities.

Where would you shop for toys if your Toys R Us closed?

Well thats good news for you Debbie! We have a Toys R Us, but I
hardly EVER go there. Went the day after Christmas because some
stuff was 75-80% off. Got my son a Lego Building board game for
like $2.

We really don't buy him many toys (the grandparents do enough of that!
LOL), but I think Toys R Us closing will be a fabulous opportunity for
you. Now the only real competion I can think of for you would be
Walmart. My son loves all their tool sets for kids. And
they are real cheap.

Hmmm, now to figure out a way for you to market to all the former Toys R Us people.................hmmmm

I don't know if this company was nationwide or not - but do you remember Child World?? That was the big kids store before ToyRUs came along. I used to love to go there...

I tend to actually go to Kohl's for toys - they have some spectacular sales where I can get a lot for less.

You must have run them out of business, Debbie! smileys/smiley17.gif

I probably wouldn't have the guts, but you could go and put your flyer on all the cars in their parking lot while people are shopping at the going-out-of-business sale.

Ours is closing as well and we have a smallish town with no other toy stores other than what Wallyworld and Target carries. I guess online shopping for us!

I always use Amazon to order my toys from Toysrus. Very doubtful that Amazon will go out of business smileys/smiley2.gif

Hardly ever shop at Toys R Us unless I'm looking for something specific. Otherwise i'll got to Wal-mart as they have the basics and they are cheaper in price. BuT.......they don't have the special items somethings so then I have to go to TRU.

In Calif. Walmart is the reason why some TRU's are going out of business.

Toys R Us is doing bad financially... I read about it on the web last summer.

I usually shop for toys at Target or Wal-Mart because the prices are good. I noticed this weekend at Target that they are putting out a kind of specialty line of games/toys and they had the DT Rush Hour game there (under a different brand)! I was kind of surprised. But I don't think the price was any different so I would buy from DT before Target with that because of your guarantee.

I rarely shop Toys R Us. I usually go to Kmart and Target for toys.

I do all of my toy shipping with natural family boutique (www.naturalfamilyboutique.com/?motherhoodnaturally (http://www.naturalfamilyboutique.com/?motherhoodnaturally)). I'm not much for shopping at retail stores for toys so this works out well!

LOL. smileys/smiley2.gifI do buy, well actually, I get for free,99% of my toys from DT, but I know that there are always little things (like Thomas the Train), that I can't get from myself. smileys/smiley36.gifI also loved the baby selection when my boys were younger.

It bothers me that the big places are running out other businesses.

I agree that the big business are running out the little businesses. That's the evolution of the business world. A town in western ny is fighting Walmart because they want to keep the quaint atmosphere. Well Walmart just bought a huge parcel of land right on the border of this small town and is going to build a super walmart. Well, in essence, walmart just said in your face withmy monetary resources I will stomp on you. This stinks but it is life. I try not to shop at these places but sometimes I have to because it is more effective on my budget.

I love to shop at the smaller stores. I think that it keeps a town nice and friendly having small businesses. Don't get me wrong I shop at the bigger stores too, but I do love going into the little places. I think the customer service is typically better and people are more friendly.
