View Full Version : Question About Prolief

I have a lady who is interested in the Prolief. She also takes birth control pills and I was wondering if this will have any effect on her as far as messing up her cycle, etc. I don't want to sell it to her until I am sure that it is not going to cause her any problems!

It won't cause problems, but it may not be effective. Since she is on the BCP, progesterone receptors are already occupied by the synthetic progestin in the pills, so there is nowhere for real progesterone to go.
Why does she want to use the Prolief?

The prolief may help slightly with symptoms if she is on BCP, but not much. There are too many synthetic hormones in the BCP to compete with like the other poster said. Dr. Lee addresses it in his premenopause book in depth. Most women aren't willing to go off the pill, but some will. Then they usually see tremendous improvements in symptoms.

In the Prolief file on rbonboard, it says to use Phyo-Prolief if the clients on on BC. It also says, when in doubt use Prolief.

I am going off the pill! We're don't want to get pregnant, but I am so excited! Yes, Dr. Lee reminds us that the synthetic progestin in the pill will already occupy the space where progesterone wants to go. So the natural progesterone really won't be able to do its job. I can't wait to get off the pill, start my progesterone cream and watch for improvements in the way I feel over the next few months. I'll keep you posted!

Good luck at home Leah, I believe in my heart you will be much healthier because of your decision.
Marissa, where did you find that info? I have done a lot of research on the progesterone and have never seen the recommendation to use phyto prolief when on BC. I looked through the files on the rbon board and didn't see it...
Do you know which file it was in and what Doctor or source recommended it? I have several friends on the pill who are interested in prolief, but not willing to go off the pill, even though that is what I recommend to them. I would love to have more info on it.

I just sold2 proliefs to girls on BC - I did not know they had to be off the pill for the most effects - now what???? Is it still safe and OK if they continue to use prolief while on the pill? HELP!

I have never sold it to someone on the pill because my upline, who is a nurse married to a doctor, and her upline which leads directly to Dr. Deanna Osborne says it is basically a waste of money. It will barely work, if at all, while they have those synthetic hormones in their body. The Pill is bad news, IMO. I thought that long before Arbonne came into my life. You should look up Dr. Lee's site and get some info there, or get his books from the library. Great information there.

ANET - Sorry it took me so long to reply! I have been using my laptop, but I had the information on my desktop. The file is under Prolief and it's called TO PHYTO OR TO PROLIEF.

Whenever someone wants to purchase these products from me or asks me questions I ALWAYS tell them to do their research before purchasing. It is not up to us to ask them all the questions about their health.
One of the RVPs in our Nation is an RN. She does Health&Wellness presentations in our nation all the time. She always, always advises us to consult or recommend consulting with a doctor before using these products because there is a very fine line between recommending and "perscribing" with this type of product.
Just use caution!

I absolutely agree, Jennifer. It is important to know the correct way to use the balancing creams because (like I mentioned in another post) once you start using it, you can't just stop without some adverse symptoms occuring.
It is also important to know that the PhytoProlief comes with certain drug interactions due to the herbs in the formula.
