I got my new kit last week and it is amazing! I love the new invitations and the new business cards have a little square where you can put a drop of oil. It says "Smell Me" on the card—how cute!
And have you seen the new warmers? I have latte and denim and can't wait to get a sage. Love them.

Why do companies keep doing this to me?
So what are the requirements...quotas, commissions, who reports & pays sales tax, quotas for downlines, when are you considered inactive and what happens, do you keep money upfront or submit all and wait for a check, company paid hostess plan?, website included or extra, shipping, minimum orders...and anything else I've forgotten?
Thanks NO PMs, please!!

Requirements: Book 3 parties, then send in your application. $99 plus shipping (& maybe tax)
Quotas: $250 in sales every other month to stay active
Commissions: 40% of retail sales, you keep and only pay wholesale to company.
Sales Tax: If in UT, the company collects & pays, and you get reimbursed from customer; outside of UT, you do.
Quotas for downlines: varies depending on your rank. If you PM me an e-mail address, I can send you the brochure.
Inactive: Don't place an order in 2 months; completely inactive after 6 months. To reactivate, place a $250 order.
Hostess Plan: comes out of your 40%.
Website: free for 3 months; $9.95 after (and worth the price!)
Shipping: $10 per order; pass cost along to guests
Min Orders: None.
I can't think of anything else, but if I haven't answered all your questions, post again or PM me.

I hear ya Missy! LOL With this new kit, can you realistically start your business with it? Or would you realistically have to "upgrade" your kit so that you can actually do justice with your parties? Just curious. UB was always so pricey to start (totally out of reach for so many, imo,), but now a kit is only $99. ?
No PM's please; just post here.
Thanks!

The kit now has little sniffers of each of the 66 scents; which cuts the price down drastically. The sniffers are awesome.
The party format has changed from make and take parties (due to them being time consuming), hence you don't need a full bottle of every scent or inventory stock to lug to shows. I didn't like the idea of the new format initially. But when I studied it more I really am liking it more than the make and
take parties. I will, however, hold make and take
workshops out of my home every month. (I have both kits).
You don't get a lotion, a parfum, a shower gel, and a bubble bath in the $99 kit: But one thing that the 3 show requirement to start gives you is an easy way to reach a sales goal so that you can earn FREE the missing bath & body products!!! Then you have something physical to show of each product UB carries. And when I say easy, I really mean it!!
Once you get going you can tuck away a little profit from each show to be able to purchase the full bottle oils (starting with most popular first) so you can do make and take workshops in the future if you want to. But it really isn't necessary for your customers...they can easily enjoy the full benefits without...we offer packages to cater to those customers.
To be honest, I wish I had waited to do that instead of buying the $500 kit.
Hope this helps answer some of your concerns. Let us know if you still need more answers.

I still do the Make & Takes at my home too. You need the bigger kit to do those. But with the exception of a few things like table cloth, pens, coffee beans, etc. everything you need to do a new party comes in the new kit.
New customers don't know about the old style parties, so they're excited about the new ones. Past customers sometimes complain, but they can always come to the M&T at my house. I have a few older customers who have scheduled a private M&T at my house and brought their friends over. That works too.

So how exactly do parties work now? I have really wanted to join now for over a year and a half but I was excited about the old setup, just not the old start up cost. I would still like to join but I want to know how the party works if you just have "sniffers" but can't mix everything there.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Desiree,
McKenna has put together a video of her doing a party using the new format and a type script to give designers a guides. It is easily customizable to your style. I was leery until I saw the video. It introduces every product to the guests nicely. Welcome, explain what UB is, introduce home collection (oils & warmer), introduce signature collection and unscented product, explain hostess incentives and sponsor info, thank guests and hostess. Play a game, hold a drawing, etc whatever you wish.
Keep in mind that you can still do workshop parties if you wish. The new format takes 90 minutes from time to roll in driveway til you roll back out (20 - 30 mins is actual demo). The workshop format takes 2 1/2 - 4 hours depending upon how many guests are there and how indecisive they are. Most guests cannot attend a party that runs that long.
You can always do the new format and offer the guests make & take at the end "if they wish"...also.
