I am very excited aboutgetting backto work tomorrow...I have 8 shows booked for January and the first is tomorrow at 3:00!

I love taking 4 weeks off every Christmas with the kids...but I can't wait to get dressed up, put on my jewelry, and leave tomorrow afternoon and have some fun! (and make some money, too!smileys/smiley17.gif)

It did take me 2 hours to pack though....everything was quite a mess! No Hostess Packets, Jewelry in 3 different rooms(without their tags) ...at least I found my booking calendar! haha

Actually, I'm a little nervous, I hope I can remember how to do my presentation.

When are all of you getting started? And do you find it hard to get back in the swing of things?

Count It All Joy!

Sheryl, I'm sure you will do GREAT! I had my first show of 2006 last night and had a BLAST!!!! I did some reorganizing as well - cleaned up and sorted out my bins, put together some new folders, etc. But once I got to the party - I was so psyched! I, too, had taken 3 weeks off, and was raring to go. 1 down, 7 more to go! WOOHOO!!!

I did my first last night and it was soooo nice to be back! 3 weeks off was too much and I was actually a little nervous (you'd think after 9 years in this biz, I wouldn't get nervous but...) Anyway it was a great party with $425 in sales (so far) and 2 bookings! Another one today too! Yeah!!

Mine is not until Friday the 13th...hmmm, good thing I'm not superstitious. I had an even longer break, my last show was Nov 18th, so I'm constantly going over my presentation in my head or even out loud to and from work in the car. Being careful of course to quit when I pull up next to someone, don't want people to think I'm crazy and all. I'm not really nervous b/c I won't know anyone at this party. Sounds weird I know, but all my shows so far have been for a hostess I knew in advance or I at least knew several of the guests. For some reason, I get more nervouspresenting for those I know. Cooky huh? And I'm rearranging all my jewelry too so I can present it differently than I've done in other shows. I've gathered ideas over the break and can't wait to give them a try. Good luck to everyone getting back into it.

Amber, that is when my first show is, also! The hostess picked it especially because it was Friday the 13th! I am really looking forward to it! I think I am going to play it pretty straight for my first show so I can be sure I cover everything. I will have a drawing for a gift, but it will be something from the dollar store. I have found some nice silver heart shaped jewelry boxes at the dollar store, go figure?! My hostess is a girl down the street and we have gotten to be pretty good friends. I have met some of her friends before (at a Tupperware party), but I am really not that nervous!

My upline has always said that she finds it easier to present to strangers than the warm market. I guess I will find out!!

I did my first party last night. I was so psyched and did an awesome presentation if I must say so myself! LOL But, I was doing it for one of my best friends and she was so uncoachable!!!!!! One outside order for $12.99 and only 2 small orders from the party. Everyone used the excuse of being broke after Christmas, buying tons of toys just a couple weeks ago, blah blah blah. Not to sound like I don't care about their problems, I do. That's why I'm trying to sell them toys, LOL, cuz I'm in the same shape they are. But anyway, it wasn't that great and I'm looking forward to my next one with some ladies that will not come to any kind of party unless they are going to purchase. That's how I was raised too. If you are invited, don't go unless you plan on buying. It helps no one if you don't purchase. Plus it's a fun group of gals, they all hosted Petra parties for me and they are so much fun.

So, my year's not out to that great of a start. It'll get better though! Y'all feel sorry for me and go buy some toys for birthday and rainy day closets for CHEAP!!!!! Just kidding.....or am I?????? LOL

God Bless y'all!!!

My first party isn't until the 17th since I'm ditching town, but I've been collecting orders all week. I start training my customers and hostesses for January all year round. It really helps, then they are excited and waiting for the sale.

My first year with DT I wasn't even aware of what a great month this can be. smileys/smiley36.gifYou'll be awesome Krystal. We all have our bad parties.

So Sheryl, how was it to be back at work?

First, I must say that Amber cracks me up! I usually do the whole "in my car presentation" as I drive to shows! So...I'm there with ya on the "people think I'm crazy thing". I also sing alot and pray the Prayer of Jabez.

My show was GREAT! 10 guests...$460 in sales and leaving it open 'til Wednesday...3 Bookings...and 3 Business prospects!

I hope and pray that all of you have a Prosperous January. It always helps set the pace if you can get the year off on the right foot.

WoooHooo! I'm ready for a great year!

I also did my first show Fri night(last one was Dec 15)!! I had to organize my folders, drive an hour to get there(up near Patti P's house smileys/smiley2.gif!) and get myself "in the grooove"!! Well...it went fantastic!!!!! I had one group of teachers and one group of older Irish ladies. One of the ladies is visiting for two weeks from Ireland and she is a next door neighbor to my hubbies aunt and uncle(who live in Galway)-can you believe it smileys/smiley3.gif??? What a small world!!! My hostess earned our free $50.00 gift certificate because she had such great sales. I also got a call a couple days earlier froma girl that wanted to see a tasting and she lived in that same town so she came to watch andloved it so much she's signing up smileys/smiley32.gif!!!!!!

I'm ready for 2006!!!!

I'm not quite biting at the bit to get back into direct sales, but I have been curious & interested to see whats out there now. Was with another Company many years ago & just kind of miss it.

Would you mind sharing?

Hi Becka!

I sell Big Yellow Box by Crayola. We offer all-inclusive craft kits for all ages - 3 to 103! I never did direct sales before this, and I have really been loving it! I promoted 3 times in a year and won a couple of all expense paid trips, not to mention all the fabulous women I have met along the way. I'm so glad I decided to do this instead of getting a job at the mall!

Hi Becka~

I have been with Premier Designs Jewelry for almost 3 years. For starters they have a good reputation...At the show I had Saturday there were 3 guests who not only love our jewelry and have bought it for years but also were very educated in our Philosophy as a Company (Biblically based Philosophy and Purpose).

I, of course, Love Our Jewelry and it is Guaranteed!

There are no fluctuations or variables in our marketing plan. I like that it is simple to understand and you do not have to pester your downline to make certain quotas or win contests.

We make 50% of our sales

and 10% Commission on our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level Downline.

All the contests I have seen for 3 years have beenbased solely on my performance, not my teams.

The Hostess plan is AWESOME and Premier always runs Great Specials...For instance:

The JANUARY SPECIAL is; a $250 Show Qualifies for50% HOSTESS BENEFITS! That is $125 in Free Jewelry plus we have Bonuses that a Hostess can earn on top of that! (I will end up with9 shows for the month of January because of this Special)

Sorry to go on and on, but I Love What I do!

By the way, I also have 6 children and THEY are the reason I do what I do! We work it as a family. I let my children pick the dates on my calendarthat THEY want me to hold shows! We set aside a certain amount of $$$ each month to go "play with".

Hi Becka- I do.... In-Home Wine Tastings!

As anotherwonderful consultant puts it..."We bring the Romance of the Vineyards right to your own living room!" smileys/smiley36.gif

The Friendships~ Learning about Wine~ Earning Free Trips~ and Feeling a Sense of Pride everytime I do something that Inever thought I could do before ~(learning the computer, talking in front of a group of people, having my own business) are all the things I cherish and have acomplished since I have become a Wine Consultant for The Traveling Vineyard!!

Cheers!

Thanks for all the replies.

I have one company that keeps drawing my attention simply because I adore the products. Everything seems to be "my style", but I', trying to compare compensation plans.

Some of my main concerns are fees involved. Do any of your companies have hidden fees. Such as, one I know of has a processing fee every time the employee does a show sent to the company through internet. Another one has some sort of web fee that if you quit, you owe the company money. Also, who pays for the hostesses free stuff? Do I or does the company? I want to be able to compare every aspect.

Can you tell me what your fees are & if you pay for the party hhostesses free item. Thanks.

A lot of poeple do not understand the higher start up cost that Premier Designs has. This is the reason....There are no surprises later, we ar very up front with all of our info!

There is no website fee

We do not pay Shipping for anything we order (sample jewelry or business supplies)

We receive an additional 30% Off when we buy samples of New line jewelry that is released every 6 months.(We already get 50% Off)

We Do Pay $8.00 for Our Hostess to receive Free Jewelry, whether she earns $200 or $600, it only costs us $8.00!

And we pay an additional $3.00 for each $25 Bonus she earns...If she earns all 4 then we have had at least a $500 Show! So, a $500 show menas a Gross profit of $250, minus $20, OUR NET PROFIT IS $230! And we only send Premiertheir portion and keep our the night of the show.

That's It! I cannot think of any other related costs to run my business!

I think you are being very smart to look deeper into what the on-going costs can be instead of just the inital fee.

Have a Great Day,

Sheryl

With EWE you pay $139 for start up with supplies for 5-7 parties. There are no hidden fees, no annual fees. Everything is there in the contract. We do pay 1.5% to process credit cards for customers only, not consultant cc's so its up to you to take them or not.. typically this amount is under $1.00 at my parties.. The company pays our host award program which is great, and we get to buy samples of food products for our own use and party use, at 80% off retail. HTH

Hi Becka!

We do not have any hidden fees. We have 2 starter kits, one for $99 and one for $199, and that includes kits for your display, business materials for your first 2-4 shows, training materials and your website. We have no requirements for booking shows - we just have a rolling 3 month minimum of $300 in sales, which is very easy to acheive. We do not pay a fee to process credit cards or state sales tax, the company takes care of all of that. Our hostess rewards are paid for by the company, and starting this year, our hostess thank you gifts (just for having a show), will also be paid for by the company. We do pay for our business supplies, as is normal for most companies, I believe.

Keep up with your homework and you will make a decision that is right for you! Feel free to ask as many questions as you can think of - that's why we're here!

I had my first party of the year on Tuesday and like you I had jewelry scattered everywhere in my house and car. It took me 2 hours to get it all back in the right cases. What a mess! :)

I loved having 3 weeks off too. It was just what I needed. I was so full of energy at my party. It was awesome. I got 3 bookings and it closed out today at $830. Woo woo!!

With Liasophia there arn't any hidden charges. You pay 6$ flat fee for the hostess benefits (20% free jewelry or 40% free jewelry) and you pay 1$ for the 5$ gifts certificates. You pay 9.99$ a month for your website. And the minimum you have to sell with Liasophia is 150$ every 12 weeks to be considered active (receive mailings)

Well, I've done 4 parties so far this year and they haven't been good. My first was awesome! but the rest have been less than wonderful. And I'm having trouble booking. smileys/smiley19.gif This is not good. Oh well, I have 3 or 4 this week (no guest list for one yet, not a good sign) so hopefully they'll be better. A couple of new groups and a couple of repeats. So we'll see! But I need some good things happening now!

Just a thought ~ Try giving away something very special for holding a show before Valentine's Day...

Like a Nice Romantic Candle or even something outside of your business line, like aGift Certificate to a localday spa, etc. What would make you want to havea show?

I gave away their choice of a $25 Gift Certificate for either

1. A Men's Ring or Watch (Valentine Gift)

2. Victoria's Secret (Valentine Outfit)

3.Their Favorite Restaurant (Valentine Dinner)

They have to hold the original date and have a $400 show to receive their Gift. You could revamp that to make it cost efficient for you. But, for me...I make $200 on a $400 show, so this was worth it to fill my calendar.

Sometimes, it just takes alittle WOW to get yourcalendar going.

Good Luck,

Sheryl
