I have been reading the "Natural Cures They Don't Want You To Know About" book and it is fascinating!

The author, Kevin Trudeau, talks about how what we put on our skin, and what is in the products that we put on our skin, goes into our bodies, causing toxins, etc. I am thankful I found Arbonne when I did! As Kevin also states in his book, it is unrealistic to be able to be completely preservative free in this day and age, but knowing that Arbonne products have very little preservatives makes me feel good about my decision to change.

When I think back to all of the years that I have been wearing makeup, body lotions and all of that stuff, over 20 years, I can see how these ingredients that he discusses will build up in your body.

He also talks about the food industry and how they are actually putting chemicals in food to make us hungrier! He said it is especially in diet foods!! This has really made me start to take a look at A LOT of things in my life that I have been doing and I am going to start buying strictly organic fruits and vegetables, organic sugar, and no more diet soda! (This will be the hardest for me smileys/smiley18.gif! I LOVE my Diet Pepsi!!)

He also talks about how growth hormones are put into the animals so that they grow faster, so that farmers can make more money faster. Luckily, my father raises his own cattle, only feeds them the best feed, and does not use any type of chemicals, so I know my beef that I get is good. Now I just have to figure out how to get pork and chicken and stuff without having the growth hormones added. He explains that this is why our youth is maturing so much faster and hitting puberty at earlier ages, due to the growth hormones used in animals!

Just thought I would pass some of this along!! smileys/smiley4.gif

ETA ( I can't believe I forgot this!) On his "How to Lose 30 Pounds in 30 Days" CD, HE TALKS ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF DOING A HERBAL COLON CLEANSE AND A CANDIDA CLEANSE! So I think this book will be a great promoter for us in the health and welness industry!! Edited by: arbonnegirl

Hi -

What you've mentioned is a big reason why Arbonne appeals to me.I was diagnosed with breast cancer three years ago, and now I think alot more about what Iput into my body- hormones in meat and milk, pesticides, etc. and what I put on my body - all kinds of chemicals and stuff with mineral oil. I am trying to make smarter choices! I'm with you on the Diet Pepsi - I don't drink coffee or tea, so Diet Pepsi was what I drank. Now I drink water - way too many chemicals in the diet sodas!

I am a beauty product junkie and I'll try anything once - but I really love that Arbonne is "pure, safe and beneficial".

Hey Sandy-

I bought the book for the same reasons you did awhile back. I flipped through it & saw that a lot of what he says goes along with our philosophies. But I wanted to warn you that he is also very controversial. So be prepared if you are going to reference him. Here is a thread from another board on here. I researched him after reading some of the book & a lot of what is in this thread is similar to the complaints I've found on him.

I'm not saying to discount everything he says. People should make up their own minds on stuff like that. I just wanted you to be aware so if you run into someone who does you'll be prepared. smileys/smiley1.gif

Soonergirl, I will echo what you said, I have seen him called a scam, a snake oil salesman, a rip off artist, an idiot, etc. and this is by people who are into natural cures and healthy living. My mom bought the book and we looked at it and ended up returning it. I decided based on his history, I didn't want to support him. I think his information can be found in more reputable sources, but at least he is raising awareness, his book is selling well. That could make it easier for us to take it to the next level in how to apply those principals with Arbonne products.

Jennifer,

I agree with you on referencing stuff like this in our Arbonne business. It is so tempting. I just read something the other day, put out by an NVP, regarding testing of cosmetic companies on animals, rabbits specifically and it broke my heart because all I could think of was my daughter's cute little bunny. But I would probably never pass it out to my team or prospects or probably even mention it to anyone, because there were not references to back it up, I had no idea where it came from, really.

My mother gave me the book and it has really helped me start to change some lifestyle habits. Yes, he can be controversial and you have to take everything with a grain of salt. He pretty much says the gov't doesn't want to cure any illness but make us sicker for $$. Which in fact, my have some truth in it. But, what I have taken from the book is the same things Sandy has. To eat healthier, organic, pay attention to what I use on my body, arbonnesmileys/smiley17.gif, and definetly order our colon cleanse asap!

Barbara is correct! I am a smart businesswoman and I would not refer to what he says to use as a scare tactic or anything like that, or use him as a reference to sell Arbonne products. But he does make a lot of sense because people in other countries, such as your Asian countries, France, Italy, all eat loads of food that we are told in the U.S. that we should not eat, yet their obesity rates are much, much lower than ours. So why is it if we eat a lot of rice, potatoes, breads, etc. we gain weight but they don't? I really do believe it is what is being processed into our foods and the FDA is very well aware of this.

Thanks for this link, Soonergirl! I did read over it, and it is very over exaggerated. He does talk about some of these things in his book, but when he refers to chlorine, he is talking about not drinking tap water and I could argue with some of the other things it says on there too, but I am too busy today to do so.

I have been to many different types of healthcare providers over the years, including naturalists, homopathy, you name it, I've tried it! And most of what he says is what these specialists have said as well. So, I am not saying that he is 100% correct, but I do believe that he makes some very valid points. Thanks again!!

I would not buy anything from anyone that believes the government causes everything. That is completely absurd. NIH actually reported that the pharmaceutical companies are making too much money to actually attempt to find a cure for cancer.<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

You're welcome Sandy. And I agree, he does make some valid points. I got a lot of good things out of his book. Like I said...I am not saying anyone should believe it or that they shouldn't believe it by putting that info up there. I just always think it's important to know all sides of things so you are always prepared. That was my only reason for bringing it up.
