Hello ladies,

I am a SAHM/ Part-Time WAHM looking for a new opportunity. I currently have an Ebay store and have been selling on Ebay for 5 years now. I was a representative of Market America for 3 years, but that was quite some time ago. That was a wonderful company, but I left it for a number of reasons, it just was not working for me. Iwent to many meetings locally and was not working at all online.

I have 2 small children and live in a fairly secluded area. I am looking for an opportunity that I could do mostly online. I am not opposed to talking with people over the phone or meeting occasionally in person, but I prefer to do most of my work very early in the morning or late at night when I have time to myself. This is why Ebay has worked for me so far.

I have been looking for a company that I feel I would really LOVE the products, and I believe Arbonne could be it!!

I also have a question about the resale of product- could products be sold through an Ebay store?

Also, does the company provide consultants with a website? Does this cost extra money?

I'm sure I will have other questions, but this is it so far!

Sincerely, Carrie

It has been my experience that Arbonne is more of a person to person
business. I have not tried doing much online. You can market it online,
through a website provided by http://www.myarbonne.com . The website
costs $120 a year. Arbonne has some rules regarding your website and
the marketing of it.

Personally, I feel that a person is more likely to buy or sign on with
a company when they have tried the products, and thats why I think most
people do Arbonne as a person to person business, and have their
websites so their clients can place orders easier.

Arbonne does not allow for the resale of the products on ebay. Just by
going and doing a search, you will find that most of the products that
are being sold on there are selling for below wholesale anyway.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask, there are several great knowledgable people at this board!

Thank you both for your fast responses!! I am looking over the website completely, I think that may answer some of my other questions and help me to learn a little more about the products.

It looks great, I just want to be realistic about exactly how I can fit the business into my life and be successful.

Thanks! Carrie

Hi-

I decided to go with the website - it's really easy to customize! I did it mainly because I want to use Arbonne to fundraise for my ACS Relay for Life team. It's all set up and ready to go, but I am trying to figure out how I get traffic to my site?

Hey Carrie-<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
I also agree that it is a person-to-person business. I don’t necessarily think that means you have to be face to face though. This business is set up very well to work with people who aren’t in your area. And you can prospect those people how you feel most comfortable with, as long as you stay within policies & procedures.

But the person to person comes in after you have someone interested. You must build relationships with people to get to the top of this business. That might mean spending some time on boards like this & getting to know people first. Then it can be some emails but it’s going to be more productive to conduct as much on the phone as possible. Emails just aren’t as personal. If someone is going to get into business with you they need to like you & trust you.

You talked about not having a lot of time. The phone calls are going to be quick. You don’t want to be on the phone for more than 30 minutes when talking to prospects. Some calls will be quick 5-minute calls & others will go the full 30. You don’t have to have a lot of time, just know how to organize it & get the most out of it. Maybe while you are waiting on something else you make a couple of quick calls. Whatever you can do to fit it all in. Once people are on your team you can do more emails to communicate but calls will still be necessary at times.

Now, if you are just wanting to retail & not build a team I think it’s going to be a lot harder to do that online. People who don’t know Arbonne don’t understand what makes it different so they need information. That’s why it doesn’t work well in a retail setting. You take two salons, one retails Arbonne by just sticking it on a shelf somewhere & the other retails it by showing it to customers & talking about it, giving out samples. The one who talks about it is going to be successful & the other is not. People need to know about it & try it.

As the other ladies have said, EBay is a no-no & the company puts a stop to any consultants who do sell on EBay. In my opinion it just doesn’t make sense to sell it on EBay anyway. You are missing out on building a team if you do that & having a team is the whole point of this business. Time leveraging. You can’t leverage your time if you are the only one working for your business. The big money is in the overrides not in the commissions.

So that’s my take on it. Working the business online is foreign territory b/c it hasn’t really been done. But you can do it if you understand that you’re gonna have to build relationships first, however you choose to do it. We have systems that can fit to whatever you are most comfortable with. The Let’s Go Shopping system would work really well for you I think. Just do your research. Ask questions here or PM people that you think would be good mentors. Everyone here is very helpful & glad to answer any questions.

Maureen-

Get traffic to your site by giving it out. Let your customers know about it. Refer them to it when doing specials. Put it on your business cards, emails etc etc. Have it in your signature line when you are on boards like this. Just get it out there!

Thanks Jennifer!

Yes, that is more what I had in mind, working with prospects one on one on the phone or in person would be no trouble for me. I wouldthink the retail would come as a by-product of sharing the system and great products to interested prospects! I am just not keen on going out cold calling in the mall or on the phone. I have tried this and failed terribly!

I love hearing about everyone's personal stories, how you all got started, how you personally succeed with the business, etc. I will have to do some more reading on this forum!

One thing people do as well is purchase the 3 day samples of the RE9
Set and give them away for free from their website. You have a
guestbook and many use that as a method for generating leads. This way
they will get to try the product you are selling even if they live
across the country.

OK, good, lol. There are some people who are totally comfortable with selling & don't want to build a team. That's great if they are good salemen but the vast majority of us are not.

Sounds like you have the right idea. The retail does come as a by-product of that. With the LGS system you introduce the products to people & help them to switch over from what they currently use to Arbonne. So you are creating a network of consumers. And I am right there with you on not col calling like that! Yikes. I wish I had that talent but I just am not comfortable with it. I prefer to meet prospects naturally or have them coming to me to inquire about the business/products.
