View Full Version : Lifestyling your business

For those of you new, are you lifestyling your business? This is from a blogI wrote a while back:
I am learning to "lifestyle" my business though it doesnt always come naturally ...for a few reasons...but mostly because as much as I want to work the biz from this very chair here, I have to learn that it's 50% on line and 50% OFFline too!
Becauseeverywhere I go, there isNOT abig neon sign on my forehead that says "CANDLE LADY, C"MON AND GET YOUR CANDLES!!!JOIN MY TEAM-EARN FROM HOME!"
SO, I am lifestyling, which I think is a nice term for opening my big mouth and letting everyone know that "I have amazing soot-free natural wax candles in over 100 scents and would you like to smell one or have a free sample or better yet join and start earning money from home with a low cost fast growing no quota candle company?"..allin1quickbreath. of course.
I am NOT a born "salesperson" at all. In fact, salespeople (you know the kind-the typical furniture and car salesman)are on the top of my DISLIKE list! SO here I am, a terrible salesperson, but just about everyone who sees my candles, or should I say smells them, buys them. And best yet, THEY LOVE THEM!!! Wish everything in life was this easy. It's a great way to share this awesome product and opportunity with everyone. Have the product on hand at all times. Have the opportunity brochureon hand. Mention it. The worse they can say is "No thanks", but even then, you planted a little seed....
At a candle table I did a while back, , I had all my jar candles displayed along with one jar that was burned just about all the way down and still clear and nice with NO BLACK SOOT! An old man totters over to look. I showed him the candle and how it leaves no soot. He says "HMMMPPHH! My wife's candles don't look like that!!" So I give him a brochure for her and send him on his way. DO you know HOW MANY people , like him and his wife, just have no clue that candles can burn clean and virtually soot-free? And how many are looking for extra money with a low cost opportunity with a product over 80% of homes use? A product that people love anddon't have to be "sold" on?A companythat doesnt have high quotas to meet?
What a great time to join our company and spread the word about this company and opportunity as well as watch your own income grow from home in a world where our ecomony is unstable, our future of social security is unknown and even the job security of millions is questionable.
Lifestyling is more than just "talk" too! It's living life as a WAHM or Dad and being proud of who you are, what you represent and what you are making of your life! Every day.

hi Debra!
Great post! I am sending it along to my team, as well...you should write that up for the newsletter...So many people sit on these great candles..and I know, I'm one of them! When I do notify people, they are always glad to hear/see/smell the candles. I often get "I didn't know you were in the candle biz" so I'm doing all I can to "notify".
Not to rob your great post Debra but someone sent me a link for the "notification" principal by the great networked Art Jonak. You can google this and it's well worth the read.
Thanks again Deb! Hope to see/meet you at Fling? http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley17.gif
All the best, Julie Andrews

Debra,
I agree with Lori... you should send it in! I bet there are others that would relate to what you wrote. forum_images/post_button_smiley.gif
One of the girls on my team I sent this to wrote me back and said, "thanks, this was right on time, b/c I have been feeling like I haven't
had time to work on my business and this is one way to market the
business in 5 sec. or less!"
edited because I put the names in the wrong places due to being rushed by DH who wanted me to come watch Nashville Star!</font>
