Hello everyone,

I need some help. I teach a Technique workshop every Tuesday for my hostess club and I need some new ideas. I know there are some great ideas on this board and I'm hoping you all can help me out.

What great techniques have you used in either card making or scrapbooking?

Deanna,

Along with Stuff A Friend, I'm also a Stampin' Up! Ind. Demonstrator and have been for two years.

Are you looking for advance techs. or simple ones? Gosh, there's so many easy ones. Let me know what level you're looking for.

Kim,

This is an advanced group of stampers/scrappers so I'm looking for some more advanced techniques. We have covered most of the basic ones that I know of.

I have been lurking here for several weeks but decided that it was time to jump in and ask for help. I look forward to checking out your site.

Deanna, Here's a couple I found. Have you checked out www.splitcoaststampers.com (http://www.splitcoaststampers.com)? This sight is awesome and has so many ideas, it's unbelievable. Let me know if you have any questions.

Faux Diamond Dust (Background) Technique<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Supplies:
Glossy Cardstock
Any Color Classic Ink Pad or Spectrum Ink Pad
Basic Black Classic Ink Pad
VersaMark Ink Pad
Rubber Brayer
Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder
Heat Gun

1. Using Glossy cardstock, brayer over with a colored classic ink pad of choice.
2. Stamp image in Basic Black Classic Ink onto the Glossy cardstock and let dry a minute or two.
3. Cover the entire surface with the VersaMark ink pad by patting the pad on the cardstock.
4. Sprinkle Iridescent Ice EP over it all, shake off excess.
5. Heat with gun and watch it sparkle.

You may use regular cardstock for this technique, however there is quite a bit of a difference when using Glossy cardstock verses regular cardstock and that is the underlying color(s) are brighter and clearer and more vibrant on Glossy.

• Ink up a background stamp....making sure it is well inked (using a brayer will help ink up large background stamps). For example ink up the Canvas Background stamp with Real Red Classic Ink.

• Take another stamp, a bold/solid stamp such as a flower and place it on top of the background stamp....effectively using the background stamp as the ink pad.

• Stamp the background stamp on cardstock and see the image of the flower come through. <BR style="mso-special-character: line-break"><BR style="mso-special-character: line-break">Kim

I'm new here- and just saw your post. My hostess club ( SU!) just met last Tues. and we did two re-inker techniques- Baby Wipe and Shaving Cream. You can find the directions for both at splitcoaststampers.com under resources. I plan on doing two new techniques at each meeting. What other techniques have you done or plan to do? I would like to focus on a theme product for each meeting, like re-inkers, brayer, pearl-ex. etc.

Welcome Stacy

How long have you been a demonstrator?

Me - a little over 2.5 years and still learning. How's Sell-a-bration going for you? I had my first workshop yesterday and have 2 more in Feb. and booked one for March. Other than that - that's all.

Kim Croisant, SU Demo too!

I have been with SU! since May. I had a great workshop in Jan, and my first Club meeting was on the 31st, so pretty well so far. I have one more workshop booked for Feb. , a Tag Punch Class and 2 Stamp A Stacks! Its slow goingwith bookings though,I had that great workshop in Jan, butno bookings from it. Everyone there had never stamped before and they were completely overwhelmed. UGH

Was it hard to get bookings at first? It seems like it should be easier!

Stacy - for me - it was the other way around. Stampin' was all new to us so I was busy for the first (almost) 2 years of it. NOW, it has slowed down. I'm at the point right now that I need to find a new customer base - it's weird sounding I know.

Some of gave it up. Some have moved on. Some I never hear from anymore and some I still do but not enough to keep my business going.

That's why I decided to get into something else - Stuff A Friend and The Purple Hippo. You can see it down below. But I'm hanging in there though. Not sure what I will do come July. I've got 4 on my team, but one never got started. It will be harder in July to keep up....with all the changes taking place.

No, I'm not. I would probably already know what they are doing if I was. I'm just curious what they are changing. I have looked into it before.

Deanna,

let me know what you have done at your workshop. I just came back from a trip and didn't see your post in time. I might be able to help you next time.

I've got a nice file with all kinds of techniques.

See ya...

Hey StuffinFriends/Kim! This is totally off-topic but I just wanted to say that you new banner for Stuff a Friend is REALLY cute!!! I like the Purple Hippo one too but I just saw the new SAF one!! CUTE!!

I think there is a way to make them clickable to take someone right to your website. :)

Hey thanks. I thought SAF did a good job with it.

I'm not that savvy when it comes to that. But I know there isa way to get my banner clickable, but haven't figured it out yet. I might have the Purple Hippo code....I'll try it later. thanks Jennifer...I know you mentioned that before.
