Hi everyone,
I just wanted to share with you that I got a job! I moved to the area about 8 months ago and had been looking for a full time job but when I didn't get one, I applied to grad school and began classes. Well I planned on getting my masters (in social work) and then going from there but a local agency that I'd been connected to called me to say they had an opening and wondered if I would be interested in interviewing. I didn't know if I'd really get the job b/c others from within the agency also applied. Plus, I'd have to "quit" (I like to say that I'm just postponing) school. But I just found out today that they offered ME the job! I'm so excited! I just wanted to share that with you. I'll be working with families that the "state" has referred, helping them with various things to make the home safer for the child (to prevent removal - foster care). It's called Family Preservation. Anyway, I just wanted to share with my fellow BCers. Thanks!! I still plan to do spas but some of my work hours will be in the evenings so it will limit spas a little bit. Anyway, take care everyone, and happy new year! Also, I haven't gotten my Achiever yet. Anyone else?

Deb,
Congratulations on the new job! I also am looking for another job besides BC. Husband has been downsizeda few timesin the last 4 years that I can no longer just do BC.
We looked into the foster/adopt program in TX before deciding on adopting from China.I could never let those babies go if they were placed in my arms. That was one of the biggest reasons we didn't become foster parents. Our little girl is now 4 and she came home at 10 months old. Time flies!
Just got my Achiever today so hopefully yours will get to you soon!
Take care,

Sounds like a door is opening for you! I wish you the best of luck in your new job. There are lots of people out there that you will meet and all sorts of opportunities will come your way to share. While you may not get to spaso much, being a BC consultant also affords you the amazing opportunity to help those less fortunate by being a friend and good advisor. Ihave found that when I spa, I am able to meet new ladies who are dying for someone to talk to- or just lend an ear. These ladies have become some of my best clients- they trust me because I bonded with them on a personal levelas a friend first. BC has many rewards and all aren't financial. Again, I wish you the absolute best in your new job!! You'll do fine. smileys/smiley1.gif
I got my Achiever today- there are some good things going on for January!
God bless!
