I have a skin condition called keratosis Pilaris. Its pretty common, it consists of tiny red dots all over the upper arms and legs and results in dry skin. Ive had it all my life and never knew what is was until tonight. I found a website that tells you some ways to treat it, so now I just need to find the right products. It is recommended to use lotions or creams twice a day that contain salicylic acid or alphahydroxy acid. Does Arbonne offer body wash/lotion like this? Any help will be appreciated! Heres the link I found with the info on this condition, just in case you come across someone with it. http://www.dermnetnz.org/acne/keratosis-pilaris.htmlI have met so many people that have this, and didnt know what it was or how to treat it. My Dr. didnt even know exactly what it was, LOL! Thank God for the internet!!!!! smileys/smiley36.gif Edited by: funnygirl

Well I don't know if that is what I have or not.. I had little reddish bumps on my arms.. I have had them since I was a teenager. I was told they are from dry skin and since I have really dryskin this makes sense.I use the Awaken Sea Salts, Baby Oil (only in winter, really dry)and NutriMinC body care set (serum ~which contains salicylic acid~and lotion). This has helped tons. I hope you find what you are looking for. If you want the ingredients on any of these products I can send you the info.

Hi Kim! you don't need to apologize! I did find out from my sponsor (thanks, Cassandra! smileys/smiley4.gif) that you can use the RE9 Serum and Hydrating Lotion for your body. The Clear Advantage has the salicylic acid in for your face, however, if you are real dry on your face, too, I don't know if this would be too drying? Any other advice? I am still a newbie, so I am still learning!

I've heard that the clear advantage is not drying at all!

Bev - Thanks for that info! I wasn't sure if it would be drying or not, especially if someone already has dry skin. I still have so much to learn! Edited by: arbonnegirl

That threw me off too. Because I have dry skin, but the website said that this condition is....well, what it is is that each pore or hair folicle looks like a little red dot. Im spotted, lol! I only have this on my upper arms and my legs. The reason this happens is because each hair folicle produces too much keratin, and is pluged so the skin doesnt sloff naturally. The different acids help sloff the skin, then you are supposed to moisturize really good. I always thought the acids would dry you out, but Im learning too!

Mostly dry, not really a problem with break outs, just the occasional blemish. Im 29 and am just getting to the point where I want to use a little anti aging product to keep crows feet and frown lines at bay, lol! I think just a good cleanser that really removes dry skin, a super moisturizer and maybe a little serum or something for around the eyes, mouth and my "p.o.'edcrease" in between my eyebrows would do it, LOL!!!! My face is one of those where I get the flakiness on my nose and forhead if I dont really scrub it and moisturize before applying foundation. Hope this helps!
Thanks!
Thanks!

How about something like a microdermabrasion product?
funnygirl

I ordered the free sample of the microdermabrasion that MK has, so I will see how that works for me. I will be so happy if I can get this fixed, especially by summer! Thanks for everyones help!

Your skin just sounds sooooo much like mine.. I love the NutriMinC with the Rejuv creme. I love what the Awaken Sea Salts have done for the bumps on my arms too. I am 23 and that is when you want to start preventing aging.. So you might look into the NutiMinC.. love the night creme and serum. I also love the NutriMinC body set for my dry skin.. if I don't moisturize I peel (on my face) and itch (on my body)..
Good luck,
Kim

Hm..I just looked at the pics on that site and now I'm thinking that is what I have. I thought I had Roacea, but I looked at those pics and my face is not that bad. I also have the red bumps on my arms and legs. Looks like I will have to try some of the Awaken sea salts soon. I've wanted to try them anyway. Can someone pm me with the price + shipping? My zip code is 98366 if that helps.

Cinnamon, I dont have it on my face, but my brother does. I just have it on my upper arms and my legs. I thought it was rosacea too! But I was on that site and took a look at rosacea, totally different! Not simalur in the least. The site said it (KP) is very common, although the pics shown arewhat mine looks like in its most extreme state. I always have it, but its usually not as prominent as the pictures they have listed. I am signing up Friday and am going to order the RE9 body set and the sea salts. Will let you know what kind of results I get with that.
Take care!

Hi to you all- I have been diagnosed with KP for 15 years- not a fun thing to have- mainly have on arms and legs- during the summer months it actually is at its best- the doctors I have seen said that the cold dry air in winter causes it to show up more and the dry hot air and SUN helps in th esummer.
Now I do not go and lay out in the sun to help during the summer months- but when I have something important coming up that I want to look at my best I will go to a tanning booth for couple of weeks prior to the event and this generally even out the areas and makes me look normal! Right now am working on it due to our first Mardi Gras ball on Jan 14th..
Scrubs do help alot and there is also a buff pad you can get at Wal mart and I am sure other places- I use the one for sensitive skin and put my cleanser on it to really keep that area scrubbed down...
Hope this helps

Cinnamon, from what I read on the site, it sounds like the Clear Advantage would be good match. Im gonna try it because of the salicylic acid. I dont really have KP on my face, but its still itchy and dry all the time. Im signing up for Arbonne tomorrow, so Im getting out my camera for some before pictures. If the RE9 and salt scrubworks for the KP, I think that will be an awesome "testamonial".

I probably would not recommend the CA unless you have severe acne. If you do not want the RE9 system I would recommend one of the basic lines.

Hmmm, does the CA dry you out more or something? I thought I had read that it was very moisturizing? I was considering it because most of the product recommended for KP is the same type of product one would use for acne. I was thinking the CA supplement might help my skin overall as well. I dont have acne, but since I posted on the board that I seldom have break outs, my face has broke out like a teenagers, LOL! What is the result of one that does not have acneuseing CA? I would love to try the RE9 facial system, but I thought I would try the CA first. Now I dont know what I should do. smileys/smiley5.gifWhat do you all think?I just am not familuar with any of the product.

Thats me exactly! But even in the tanning bed it doesnt completely go away, but it sure does look alot better! What product do you use for your face? I dont have KP on my face either, but pretty much everyone Ive ever known that does have it, has dry skin on the face. Is this the case with you as well?

Brandy, I use RE9 system- don't really have problems with acne but am concerned about wrinkles! I have very oily skin- during winter do have dry areas on nose and chin-so have to make sure and do my masks and scrubs to keep those areas from flaking.

Thanks Leah. I was thinking of going with the RE9 facial scrub and day cream, and then the RE9 night cream before bed. Has anyone tried the RE9 supplements? I was curiose about them as well.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Brandy, I think the RE9 system would be great for you- keep in mind that one of the 9 key elements is Alpha and Beta Hydroxy Acids.smileys/smiley2.gif

The supplements would be good. My husband has really been loving them. I am so bad at taking pills so I have enough right now with being pregs. I will add them when I am done being pregs.
