Has anyone heard of this company? There website is www.service800.com (http://www.service800.com)? I received a job offer from them yesterday, but something about it makes me feel very uneasy. They talked to me for maybe 5 minutes on the phone yesterday. No skills test or anything. And then they are really pushing me to start. They want me to fax an i-9 (so that would be my ssn and driver's license) signed by a bank (then they would have a bank's signature as well)to them today. And they want a direct deposit form (so they would have mybank info as well). I am very uneasy about giving someone that info after a 5 minute conversation. And there isn't much about them on the BBB website or a google search.
I am going in for an interview with another company on Tuesday, which I know iscompletelylegit and would be a home based job. But I am worried if I don't get that job, I won't have anything else.
Any info would be great.

Service800 is a legit company and they do pay on time.
The reason the interview is short and sweet because there's not much to the job. IMPO
You are doing outbound, calling customers that just had repairs done and ask them questions about their service and experience. For example you will ask, "How do you rate the service of the Technician on a scale on 1-5 with 1 being very likely, 2 being likely, 3 being not so likely,....." and you have to ask about 10-20 questions all that are on the same scale.
I worked for them for about 6 months but it was to boring for me. People love the job and have been with them for a long time. It's easy work, stress free and they do pay on time every two weeks.
You do have to have a quiet background or you will get fired.
HTH and I wish you the best!!

Yes you do need a separate phone line, as well as a long distance provider that includes Canada. SERVICE 800 will reimburse you for your calls.

Yes they have shifts as early as 8am. All time is in central standard time, and no you don't have to know another language. But if you do that's great.

Hi, everyone
Just came across this company on ratracerebellion.com, and was glad to see that some of you are familiar with it and that it is legit. The website is a little scarce with info. How do the customers react to the calls? Are they willing to take a moment to give the info and answer the questions, or do you get alot of disconnects? How exactly does the company pay? Is it hourly or by call? And how does the credit check for special long distance figure in? Thanks for any help you can give!

It's hrly pay, Sorry don't remember how much.
The calls are ok, and some of the customers get upset because it seems like the questions go on and on, Some are ok with answering questions. I never had anyone get mad, I had some hang up because they said they didn't have time to answer all the questions. You have to say everything verbatim and you can't skip anything and if they say they don't know or ok you have to repeat the question and all the scale and they would get upset sometimes.
It was a job that paid on time and helped me take care of some bills until I got another job.
The credit check is for their long distance company!!?? I don't know why and if you don't pass the credit check you have to pay a deposit.
If your long distance is approved you can use it but if not then you will have to get their service and pay the deposit. I was told my deposit would be $400!!! That's when I quit. I wasn't going to pay that for a company that I wasn't going to stay long term with because it wasn't the job for me!! I like hetic and fast paced.

This is the company whose name keeps poping up on my callerID. It is an oursourcing company, I think.
I do not like them and am sick....and....tired...of getting calls from this org.

I am currently working for them. And actually everyone i have called is very willing to talk to me. i am following up on products the customer has already bought, so they have no problem talking and most are very willing to share their opinion. I would say that is an unfair post to the company.

Service 800 is not an outsourcing company they hire people to work from home. I worked for them for over 3 years. I was always paid on time and reinbursed for my long distance. This is a great company to work for.
