I've been advertising in my daughter's school flyer about EWE and doing girl scout events, etc.. anyway, someone called to book one for the end of Jan! I haven't done this yet and here's my thinking.. I won't make money necessarily doing the event, as the moms won't be there,e tc.. but I figure it will lead to future bookings, potential orders(I'll give a catalog and coupon to each child) potential consultants..


I think I will charge $10 a kid and get all the foods.. I could charge and have them get the foods besides the EWE stuff, and then make some money, but I feel like its for kids/girl scouts to earn a badge and how can I lose? I may gain a few customers and more opps to do this. I have been called by someone else too.


Am I doing the right thing? I make a few dollars depending on grocery costs, but that's it.. Is my frame to think of the potential right vs the immediate what I'd make then and there? thoughts..

Deb, I think if you can afford to do it, go for it. You are right, it will gain you potential future customers which add to that residual income from retail sales. Plus you make get some moms who want to book parties after the girls come home and tell them how much fun they had. I say GO FOR IT!!!

I am sorry, I have absolutely no idea what EWE is? But I do believe that any way to get your name and company out there is the best thing to do!

I believe that EWE is Entertaining With Ease. Right?


I think you should do it!!! The exposure is worth it.


Maybe you could send a little thank you card home with each girl scout and thank the parent from both you and EWE for letting you be a part in their group.

Your siggy isn't showing.....

I'm trying to do a banner in my siggy too. I can't seem to get it there no matter WHAT I do. It's one I created thru AdDesigner.com.I followed the format rules at the Profile Edit area....


Here's what I have; can anyone lend some assistance? I'd truly appreciate it!

I think it's great! There's nothing wrong with doing this, to help out the girlscouts. I think it's fabulous. But, you should feel that there is absolutely nothing wrong with you making an announcement that you are NOT earning a single penny. You are doing this to both help them and get your name out there, so ask all of the parents to take a few of your business cards and refer a friend or two back to you.


I like Brenda's idea, so why not add a little note that says something such as, "You can thank me, too, just be helping me to spread the word about EWE. Here's a couple of my business cards, so if you know of anyone who loves to cook, entertain, etc., please think of me." You know, something like that. I'm sure you can come up with something more eloquent smileys/smiley36.gif

What exactly will you do for the girl scouts?

I do believe you need to save the banner on your PC and then upload it to a 3rd party service such as www.photobucket.com (http://www.photobucket.com) and then you can add it to your sig here. That is how I did it anywaysmileys/smiley2.gif

with the siggy.. someone pm'ed and helped me.. no clue how i did it!


angie.. I would do food prep with them for their cooking badge. We have a kids in the kitchen party theme and will probably pull 3 items from there, although I told the leader we could do anything. I would do the cooking iwth them.. simple items, fun for kids, but let them do enough to learn and experience it.


on the side.. they also want to make my braided ribbon barrettes from my other biz!

That sounds great!!smileys/smiley32.gif I would do everything you've talked about and yes it will be good exposure. This could be ongoing for you too. New girls will want to earn this same badge in coming yearssmileys/smiley2.gif Also if the leaders are happy with the program you do, ask them if they would share the info (reguarding you) with other leaders or the service manager for the district.

I have another troop interested for spring!! woo hoo!

I think it is a wonderful idea. Actually I know in the past i have been a Youth Pastor and a day camp director and from experience we are always looking for these kinds of activities to do with kids. You might try contacting local camps and also churches about these type of events. Many churches have their own form of scouts.
