Hi you wonderful wahm users! You are all a wealth of knowledge and I am hoping to tap into that again. I am interested in getting started selling insurance. I have never done this before but have many years in telemarketing, retail management, and customer service. I am a very strong sales person with excellent communication skills. I knwo I can be a success at doing this but I am very confused at where to start. i know I need to take my life and health exams, which I plan to do after enrolling in a community college locally and attending classes for a month to help prep me for these exams. But then what? Do I need to carry personal insurance liability? What type of start up costs are involved? What are some reputable companies to being my career with?I am obviously looking for the big bucks here but I know they will come once I familiarize myself with the industry and pay my dues. I am in NY, I will be relocating in a year or so to Florida. I guess I will start part-time to get my feet wet. Can you also recommend some good reputable companies to get started with? Thank you for your help!

With HBW, how do you find clients? Does your company have a lead program (or have access to leads)?

Have you heard of AFLAC. They are in NY. They will let you know where to go to set up you class and provide you with a training. If you are interested let me know and I will find a office in your area.
