Ok, so I finally did things right. I did a 1on1 presentation as it should be, and follow-up as it should be. Not only did I get my first client, order and wholesaler, but she also wants to start the biz! smileys/smiley17.gif On a scale of 1-10, she gave herself an 8. She said she just needs to know how to get started. We're meeting with my sponsor tomorrow. I can't wait to order my other RE9 sets so I can quickly get my other three BB's. I've got a few other people I consider prospects, but they aren't as warm yet and it may take time. It'll be a fun ride!
The absolute all-out best part of this was that I could tell a difference in herskin when I went for the follow-up meeting. After just 2 days of the RE9, I could totally tell her skin looked more fresh and light. I was so happy for her! She didn't order the RE9 set, but went for a basic set instead, which is totally great. It never felt uncomfortable or pushy at all. I can't wait to share all our other fantastic products with her!!

Congratulations, Leah!
What do you mean by doing the one-on-one and follow-up as they should be done? Were you doing them differently before, and if so, how? I always like to learn from the success of others!

Shana,
I was trying to follow the REsults approach. I was just talking about Arbonne casually to people and asking if they'd like to try a sample. Some people just flat out refused me right away. For some, I'd drop the sample and when I went to pick up, I found out they were too afraid to try something new on their skin. Well, I realized that I needed to give them information first. They'll feel better about everything once they're educated. So, with this appointment, I did a 20 minute presentation when I did the drop-off, and told her I'd need about another 20 minutes when I pick it up. I went back, asked her what her favorite part of the system was. We chatted a bit, and I said, "well, that sounds great. Let me show you how we get this at a discount". I showed her the cost break down of the RE9 set with wholesaler discount. She was amazed at the dollars a person could save. I said, "should we go ahead and get you started with this?" Her reply was a quick "no". I just said, do you feel like something different would be better for you? She said yes. So then I brought out the catalog and showed her the basic line along with the bio matte line. She purchased the basic line.
One of the many lessons I learned through this is that starting with the RE9 line is okay. I don't have to prejudge. I didn't really expect her to buy the set, and at first I was nervous about even bringing it up. But it felt totally comfortable to just move to the other products. I am very happy with the system and how it worked. On to the next!
