I am a wahm so I find it a little challenging meeting new people. Is anyone is a wahm? How do you plan your day so that you are strategically going places to meet people to discuss the business?
Thanks for your input!

Hey Candace,
I sooo feel you. I am a WAHM. I have been for the last almost 2yrs.
I am working on that now.
I'll tell you what I did.
I'm a very reserved person. Not a social butterfly at all. At the suggestion of my husband, he told me to send an email or call the military spouses to hang out.
I said heck no...at first. But yes, I got tired of talking to the wall, and my kids and no adult interaction with the exception of folks online (here and other forums). So, scared to death, I sent an email out to 30+ people, and was honest, told them I would like to interact. A lot of our husbands are in Iraq so I knew there were spouses feeling isolated.
I invited people to my house, cooked, and 4 gals came. We all clicked, and then 2 weeks later went out to lunch. It was refreshing. It was the hardest thing for ME, but through that I have become good friends with 1 and a second is coming around more often. But they came and I turned it into a get together/jewelry party. lol (before the SP launch party)
I am also trying to restart Toastmasters in the community here. I just don't have sitters. But that is an awesome way to meet people. Have you heard of it? I'm sure this organization is everywhere. I plan on doing speeches on my business. lol
I also volunteered to be Secretary/Treasurer of the Family Readiness Group for military spouses, and volunteered to do a Fundraiser for my jewelry biz to raise funds for the Soldiers Ball when our husbands return from Iraq. I have a huge one June 18th. That will get me more exposure for my stuff, and the ladies will ask and then I can present SP and book shows!
I am in Germany and we are in a remote location, so it is hard. I also reached out to my old friends (they live an hour away)and they are having my SP parties for me.
Seriously get involved in your community, even if it's just a couple hours a day or a few hours a week.
God Bless!

Hi, I found a "meet up" in my area with other WAHM's and that was helpful. The great thing is that we meet at Magic Mountain and the kids can play while the adults conduct our meeting and network.
If there is no meetup then maybe you can start one :)

Candace where are you located? There's a network of online/offline communities called The Mommies Network that is just wonderful. There are playdates, socials, moms night outs and a host of other activities. I was in this group when I lived in Atlanta and LOVED it so much I applied to start a chapter in Hartford (CT). You should check it out. I'm not sure about the guidelines for posting other sites here but if you google "The Mommies Network" you'll likely find it. If not PM me and I'll send you the link.

thanks a lot for all of the wonderful suggestions. I looked into the mommies network and the one in my area(dallas) is being shut down.I'm located in Texas. What kind of time commitment is needed to start one? Please pm me and share your experience withme. What a great way to meet people and introduce them to soul purpose.
Another woman suggested that I go to the malls and pretend to shop, try on clothes, etc. and talk with the sales clerk about their job there and then hip them to soul purpose. I will be at the mall everyday this week :)
This is such a great community!

LOL LOL that's genius!
There is a great way to find other spouses...on www.meetup dot com
It's great because you find sooo many groups with people that have things in common with you, in your local area. You can also start one.
I had a shoe meetup once while I was in GA. You get to invite, and then choose the location to 'meet up' at. Or just join a meetup group and participate at your leisure. You can get prospects that way too. =)
