Ok Ladies,
I know you've been alot of help so far and I have one more thought that just came up. I'm sure you all know that I've decided to go with Taste of Home and will be leaving my current company as soon as I make a leadership position there.
My current company is havinga leadership conference in Feb. and I am planning to attend. I really do love the people in my current company. The owners and the corporate team are just great people to know and have taught me so much these past years.
Although I've attended the conventions (and they have keep getting better and better) I have never made it to a leadershipconference and it just so happens that this one is right in my backyard so to speak. I'm in San Diego and it's being held near Disneyland!!!
I'm just wondering what you all would do. I haven't registered for leadership although I have had every intention of going. I really learn so much by attending conference both business wise and hobby wise. I'm a scrapbooker and we will be learning some new classes there.
So, who would go or not go and why?
Thanks again Ladies!! Brenda

Brenda,
If it is so close to you and you don't have make travel arrangements, I would go! The training you receive at these events will help you in most any business you apply the training to.
I may have missed this in an earlier post, but what company are you leaving?

Go, you haven't changed companies yet and you still want to be motivated no matter what company you are with...

Brenda,
I'm in exactly the same situation, except I had already paid the registration for our leadership conference before I decided to focus my efforts elsewhere. And with money being so tight right now, that makes going even harder. But like your company, I feel that my company is just the best and the people are the greatest. I am going to attend and take the education and inspiration and apply it to my life in general, whatever direction that is. It will be very bittersweet for me. In fact, I bet I cry. I just love these people so much, and I imagine it will be hard to be there knowing I probably won't be at the next one. I may even feel like a bit of a hypocrit being there. Then again, maybe I'll be inspired to continue working that biz, I don't know. All I know right now is that I'll go and enjoy myself and take in all the wisdom I can.

I would go, but I would be very careful about who you talk to about
your new business. The people in your current business will
probably not take it lightly if you talk about Taste of Home while you
are attending their leadership conference. My friend Traci, who
is also doing Taste, is going on a cruise with her current company in
January and she has already decided that despite the fact that she is
REALLY exctied about her new business, she will not even bring it up on
the trip(she doesn't want to burn bridges with the connections she has
made with her current company).

Hi Brenda,
I think your decision to go is a great one. The networking, meeting new friends and the wonderful training and inspiration will be well worth the trip. I whole heartly agree with Sarah, be careful with who you talk with. Don't make it a recruiting trip because your friends in the company will support your new venture. Whether they become a customer, hostess or a possible future consultant they will respect you more for keeping it separate.
With that being said, I wouldn't not talk about your excitment with the new company for those that may ask you. Bring along catalogs if they arrive in time and share with others that you might meet in the hotel or local restaurants. Just a thought.....

OH...thanks Catherine...that gives me a great idea for a new thread. LOL
And I sure hope the catalogs are ready by then. I'm so excited to see them. Oh, do you know if they have decided on the cover yet?
