View Full Version : Tape burns

My neighbor carried a heart monitor for 2 weeks. When she removed the adhesive, she had some very nasty tape burns. Apparently her skin had a bad reaction to the adhesive and she has some awful looking red splotches where the adhesive was stuck.

I'm trying to figure out what to offer her to alleviate her situation. Maybe the rejuvenating cream????

Plus, my Mom had surgery recently on her neck to remove a tumor. She's already on the NutriMin line but I'm wondering if she needs an extra product on the scar. Maybe the skin conditioning oil with the rejuvenating cream?

I'd appreciate any input!

I agree I would call her DR. 2 weeks for a heart monitor seems a little long especially with the same tape.

skin conditioning oil and rejuvenating cream for both, my Mother has numerous health issues and very delicate skin, she has had the same issues with that tape, the nurses use mineral oil to take the tape off- you have to work at a bit but it loosens up the adhesive and allows for easier removal. I know, some of you are thinking, mineral oil? But as Arbonne says in the product knowledge sheet question about mineral oil, it is very good for certain uses, such as this. In this instance, you don't want the oil to absorb into the skin, so our oils wouldn't work for this. Anyhow, that's really not the issue as the tape has already been removed. I'm not sure it seems all that odd to have the tape on for 2 weeks without being changed, maybe for her they felt that the need to monitor her heart constantly with no interruptions due to tape changes, was more important than skin irritation from the tape. Just a guess.

Saint, here's some great testimonials!

I had a severe tape burn after my last c-section. The only thing they could offer me was A&D ointment. If I had known about our Rejuvinating Cream, I would probably have used that as the A&D ointment didn't really seem to help speed recovery at all.

The docs wanted the monitor on for a full 2 weeks. She's only in her 40's and now she's facing a 4 week stint with it soon (not fun!). So I figured I'd help her get her skin in order.

I'm assuming she should use the skin conditioning oil first and the rejuvenating cream second?????
