Hello! I just wanted to introduce myself.
I'm Allison and I am recent college grad! WOOHOO! I have an AAS degree in Computer Information Systems with a Specialty in Web Management (the long way of saying Web Design lol).
I'm not "technically" a work-at-home-mom...but that is my long term goal!
I have a son, Colby, who just turned 1 a few weeks ago. I have been in a relationship for over 2 years with Derrek. We plan on getting married, but we are paying for it ourselves, therefore it might be awhile before it finally happens!
I currently work as an Administrative Assistant, but I am looking for Web Design work so I can start getting a portfolio built up.
My personal site is still in the works, but I will get that listed when I finally get some time to finish it.

Dear Allison,
Thanks for visiting. I'm not a WAHM, but I do upset
a few with my quotations and comments.
Would you be offended if I ask a hard, serious question?
The reason...
Curious if you'll be visiting WAHM.com, later.
Sometimes a newbie loses interest.
Note: As a business owner, I feel the
schools could do a better job teaching the
marketing side of web design.
Example: Very successful independent web designers
will have a website (or 2+) built, running, and making
money by the time they finish school.
That's with the help of an instructor who has
completed successful websites.

Robert-
I will be the first to admit...that where I went to school...after completing the web design program...I am VERY disappointed. I only made 1 working website...and we also designed another one but could never get it to function properly.
After LOTS and LOTS of complaints from students...they are finally rethinking their classes and making some changes...
With that said...I think they should offer those classes to us for free to make up for what they did not teach us in the first place!
But thats just my "2 cents".
Beechrose-
Thank you! It took us quite awhile to decide on a boys name! We had a girls name from day 1...but I don't think we decided on Colby until around 6-7months!
I'm looking forward to getting to know people on here and hopefully getting some freelance work!

Dear Allison,
Thanks for your response.
Have you found a successful person who knows the field
or business in your area?
Their advice would speed up your career by years.

Allison,
Your class experience sounds like a carbon copy of the one I had at a local technical school. It was a course, not a whole college thing, but it was so messed up from day one.
I did get a refund from mine lol.
Good luck with all your new adventures!
