I'm really liking it !!! I tried it before and it was slow - but it's really hopping now. Work when you want - no more breaking out in a cold sweat when the kids make a noise - it's great !!! You can sit and earn what you want - click a button and it pops right into your bank account. Support is pretty good - and it's really fun. Occasionally you get a 'piggish' question - but you can easily 'report abuse' if you want. Most of the questions are fun - and you actually learn stuff. I love the flexibility. Anyway - I can use referrals - if anyone wants to apply just click the link:

http://search.chacha.com/guidesignupnow

and put my email in the referral section: conniekangas@verizon.net

Email me or PM me with any questions about the testing or anything and I'll try to help. They have a great forum also where you can post questions.

The first week I started - I just fooled around with it here and there and made $70. It's actually kind of addicting. I'm trying to put more hours in this week to see how well I can do - and the searches are non-stop.

As a ChaCha Guide, youfind answers to thetext questionsthat come in. The work is a lot of fun and it's a great way to earn a little extra cash.

I love ChaCha! It's really taken off and the searches are back-to-back now. I'm making 40.00 a day and yesterday made 50.00. Also, ChaCha is the official mobile text service sponsor of the Indy 500 this month so it's just going to continue to get better and better.

I still have some referrals left too. If anyone would like to sign up under me, use this email address: heywingnut@hotmail.com

I'll be happy to answer questions and help you out whatever way I can. I'll check back throughout the day for any PM's.

The questions vary considerably---some are simple (factual), others require a little digging, and others are borderline inappropriate. Although, for those who chacha-ed from the beginning, there is no where near the level of abuse that there used to be. Now that there is no guide/IS interaction it's just not interesting for them.

I'm feeling really stupid now, but need some help. I got the email from ChaCha about being invited to be a guide. It said the "invitation link" was further below in the email. The only link I can see is a knowledge base link, and when I click on it, it brings up a page to log-in with log in name and password. Since I haven't registered yet, I can't log-in. It says to go to "Contact" on that page, or on the Home page, and register, and there is no contact button on either of those pages.

I've studied this and studied this and don't know why I can't see what they say is there. I need to register so I can take the tests, but I can't find where to register. Can anyone help please?

Thank you,

Chic

I had my 15 test searches last friday and today I am a official guide. It is pretty fun. I have done some questions this morning.

I passed the first 3 tests and am going to do the 15 test searches
next, but am a little apprehensive. In the Chacha guides, I know you
have to format things a certain way and not use certain sites as
references; when you are doing the simulator searches, how do you know
exactly how to reply? Did you study the Handbook extensively before
you did your searches? Thanks for any information!

dereksmom
05-13-2008, 12:07 PM
I would go to the knowledgebase and print out all of the information under "for new guides". That way you always have references. Sometimes each of the sections have links also, so be sure you check for those. The video they have there is exactly what you would be doing, except when you do the simulation tests there is no option to review the history.

Also, there is a lot of great information in the forum for new and training guides. I would look under "guides in training", lots of great pointers. Basically, I would review EVERYTHING under the knowledgebase for new guides and skim some of the forums.

I found out I passed the simulations today and will begin working. Good luck on your testing.

I second what dereksmom said. I just briefed over the stuff and I was scared that I would not pass. I would recommend studying the knowledgebase and print the newbies stuff. I have been doing that even today.

I think the system was just running a little slower due to the high volume of texts ChaCha was receiving. My computer was a little slow at times as well. The best way to pass the simulation test is to read the knowledgebase and the official guide. These give you all kinds of things about chacha. Once you have completed that then log into the universe and you will immediately get your test questions.

There is NO warning that these are test questions but they are. Some are easy others will take longer to find info. Make sure that you give correct answers in as short as time as possible.

if you have any other questions let me know. I will do myh best to answer them for you.

You do not have to have a referral to get a position with ChaCha. People say they have referrals so you can be on the team of that person. As they are helping you here. Just a way to say thanks.

T_tootles Please Pm me if you are still having problems. I will not post about the chacha tools here as this is a public forum. I will help you to answer those privately.

I tried to add some keywords, but could never figure out how to do it lol

You will still get queries even if they do not match your key words. But if a question comes in that matches your keywords then you are more likely to get that question.

I just did my simulator questions last night and it wasn't quite as bad as I thought but there certainly is a lot of pressure with that little timer ticking away! Now how long do I have to wait to find out whether I've been accepted or not? I've heard from 3 days to 3 weeks. Hopefully it will be the former!

I was accepted the day after doing the simulator queestions. The email came later. You may want to go in and do a question or two, then check your earnings and see if you received any money. You could already be in!

Someone had talked to me about this, I am trying to supplement my income and I would like something that could possibly average $10 per hour. Do you think this could be possible with this? Also, they had talked about texting, I would not be able to text, just e-mail. Can this be done through e-mails and also one last question do they pay by pay pal? Thanks.

I don't think you'd average 10/hour, probably closer to 6-8 an hour at most. And you answer the texts in your browser (Firefox). They don't pay by paypal, either.

The software is web based using the firefox browser. They pay via ChaCha debit card or Direct deposit.

It depends on how fast you search and the nature of the questions. If you're lucky and get an hour of easy fast questions - you could do .20 per minute - or $12. But thats not too typical. I usually do around $8.

ChaCha.com is the website. The thing is you have to take tests and then wait for those results and then study the knowledgebase before doing the 15 simulation tests. So this is not a start now.

You can use me as a referral if you like kbond1521@yahoo.com

There is no time limit to take the sim test. Now each question you are giving 10 min before auto logged out. I have never taken more than 4 min to answer a question.
Make sure you read the knowledgebase before taking the sim test.

Unless they have changed it since I took my tests, if you have made it to the simulator questions, you should now have access to the ChaCha forums too. Just login to the underground and click on the forum link in the upper right hand corner. You can ask question like this on the ChaCha forums and probably get a faster accurate answer.

We get paid to answer allquestions in the most accurate way possible. Also, you have the info on what to do with abusive /offensive questions.

what is the benefit of growing a team and being a referral?
Edited by: sue311

Lilly33
05-26-2008, 09:43 AM
The benefits for the team leader is you get 10% of whatever your team makes. You are only allowed to have 20 people on your team.

The benefits for being on a team or being a referral is none unless you have a good team leader who is there for you and provides help and support when you need it. Team leaders arent required to do that either you can join someones team and never hear from them again.

Ifyou are joining someones team and you are helping them to make an income I would make sure you have a good team leader who would be there for you when you need them.

Its 20 cents per question that the guides make. If you signed up to be on someones team, your team leader makes a 10% commission off of each of your answers. So they make 2 cents off of your answers and you make 20 cents.

Hello all,

I have some referrals left. PM for one. I would also be willing to assist anyone with their questions on the process as it can be daunting for some.
Keep in mind that some skills are required, especially being able to find information on a variety of subjects on the internet.

Since I have joined I have made some pretty decent additional income thanks to all of you here and I appreciate everything this website has done. This is my best WAHJ by far and I am learning a lot about everything.

thanks

I apologize to to those who were trying to PM me. I am a text guide (new) for ChaCha. I just did not know about the referral or team benefits.

Now when my family ask me a question, I say you have to pay me 20 cents smileys/smiley1.gif

why does everyone keep giving out the ref. I mean i know you make a commission but its crowding the board.

Babygurl - People ask about referrals so we give them out. It has been posted in this thread that we make money on the referrals. We are not hiding it and if people choose to join under us then that is their choice. I give a lot of help to other people and that is not dependent on anything. I helped Misha out with getting her system setup and that and she is not on my team.

Hi everyone,

I have created a seperate topic thread for ChaCha invites/referrals at: http://www.wahm.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=570040

If you have invites or need an invite, please visit this thread. Hopefully, this will help this original thread stay informational and make it easier for new members to locate an invite.

Thanks!

How do you sign up to do the voice transcriber?

Right now I don't think they are hiring for anymore voice transcribers, but they are for the guides, and I know that alot of people enjoy being a guide. It's actually really fun and you learn alot of new things along the way. You can always check back every now and then to see if they are hiring for the transcriber positions or if anyone knows if they are. Maybe someone who has been with them longer knows how those positions work or how to apply. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

I seen somewhere that you have to be invited to be a voice transcriber. It is dependant on your qualities of txt guides and openings.

Someone tell me about the typing test! I NEVER do good at the typing tests, I always freak and make a ton of mistakes and never seem to be able to type fast enough! Good golly!!!

kitkat0925
05-27-2008, 10:52 AM
The tests starts when you start typing. It gives the sentences out ahead of you typing them. By the end it is full sentences a head of you. Just stay calm and do not stress out. You can try the free tests available at http://www.typingtest.com/ This will help you in typing and then when you get good do the fitness assesment.

I am a new Guide as of last week, but had a quick question for current Guides. HOw many questions do you usually complete an hour? I've read some people posting that they had only worked on and off throughout a week but had made almost $180 so far. Is that number pretty accurate as far as weekly pay? Just trying to get an idea of what to expect, thanks!

kitkat0925

I do this part time, as I have a full time job. I have made about 60.00 a week. now this is only working during the week. Not really anything on weekends. I have heard people making much more than what I do though.

Lilly33
05-27-2008, 12:22 PM
Typically I work about 4-6 hoursa day everyday and I make anywhere from $210 and up. So doing it part-time I would say around $180 a week is accurate, but definately able to make more if you work at it full time.

Ok, so I took the fitness test today and passed.. but when I went to fill out my info for the w-9 it says that my social security is already on file... anyone knows what this means?

Lilly33
05-27-2008, 01:19 PM
Means at some point in time you were already hired by ChaCha or you had already pass the fitness tests before. Maybe you passed the fitness tests and failedon the 15 question simulation. So they have your SSN number on file now. You can contact them using their feedback page and catagory customer service and let them know. They should tell you what the other account is and let you know its status.

Kitkat0924 ,

I had applied back in 06 but never finished anything and they still had my old info. Guide registration is broken on their site but I re-sent to customer service I believe and got a answer in 24 hours.

Ok, so I sent a message and haven't gotten an undeliverable message again. Do you know if I should have mentioned that I had applied as a desktop guide back in 06.. ? or will they automatically know?
Thanks!

I think it would depend on what information you gave them this time. They can probably look it up by your name, email, or SSN and see where you are in their systems. If none of your current application information matches what they have on file they might need more information from you to find your old account.

the simulator questions can be a little slow but if your waiting longer than 5 min and you havent recieved a single question yet, I would post the problem on ChaChas forums under bug reporting or new guide helpand see what they tell you.

It should get easier, even if you are fast now, you will soon learn which websites you want to have open in another tab because you get so many of those type of queries.

I also recommend going to the forum they offer and looking at the favorites section - bookmark the ones you like and you'll have quicker access to some of the harder questions. That's helped alot!

Congrats on getting in! I worked last night too, and the system was a bit slow. It usually isn't like that. As you work more hours, you'll get the hang of it, and you should see in increase in the number of questions you can answer quickly. Good luck and welcome aboard!

Congrats! And be patient while you get into the ChaCha groove. I truly think thatwhen you are in trainingmore experienced guides get first crack at things. Keep plugging away and you'll be fine!

Also, I thought I was fast when I first started--but I wasn't. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gifYou will get faster with practice and by reading tips and tricks in the forums! Spend some time reading the knowledgebase too.

Good luck! Once you get into the swing of things you'll be fine--just keep your finger on the enter button while waiting!

EDIT: One other thing--somewhere in the knowledgebase is a graph that shows slow and peak ChaCha usage hours. You might want to station yourself during busy times so you can get more opportunities to answer queries. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

Some things that might assist others:

It takes time to make money. There will be a few instances of frustration as you try to find something and in fact there may be in instance where you just cannot find it at all.

Set up different tabs and have them open. I have the main ChaCha website open for general inquires such as ,"What is ChaCha" ,etc..

I have a Google tooblar installed also and in it have whitepages.com, peoplesearch, weather, etc...

The faster you make the inquires the more money you make, but....the better quality the response, the more you assist in building the customer base.

ChaCha website, use the Cha Cha Underground to access your information as it seems more reliable then clicking on the My Account link on the Universe. At least for me.

How much can you make?

For starters and average search times I would guess around $5.00 an hour. It goes up from there. Some searches take 30 seconds while others cans take 4 minutes for items such as the chemical breakdown of a theoretical teleporting chemical catalysts. ;) You get all kinds of questions including many crude ones.

My goal is around $20 a day and more on the weekends working just a few hours. So figure $20x30=$600 a month plus a little more from the weekend. Not too bad. for some extra chump change. smileys/smiley36.gif

Hope that helps

I only have a few referrals left if you need one, use

chacha@ladtek.com at

PM me once you are joined up and I will be happy to assist with some pointers. We cannot help with the test.

I would email them again and ask for more information and explain to them what you just put here. It could be error on their part, or ask them what the other account is. It may be from where you applied to be a guide long ago and they might activate the old account for you to use.Edited by: Lilly33

I agree with Mayantek that it takes time at first to make the money you want. However, some of the newbies have shared that they start out earning pretty good money. It depends on how fast one types and getting induring some or all of the high activity times. ChaCha lets you know when these busy times are for each day, so that makes it very easy. With practice, you'll learn to developyour ownrhythmand system that will help speed things up for you.http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

Need a referral? Just pm me for my email address and I'll be happy to give it to you along with answering any questions you may have. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

I got an invite and did all the testing then got an email that they did not have any positions suited for me. HUH? I know I answered all those questions correctly. I wonder if it's my area. I live in a small town in WV. Hmmmm. Now I'm a bit discouraged....again.
