I just read on the Yahoo Arbonne group site that the newest Policies & Procedures no longer allow us to have domain names that are redirected to our myarbonne.com sites. The Policies & Procedures I received in my new consultant packet don't list that at all. Anyone know when these new policies went into effect? Argh!!

smileys/smiley5.gifI didn't know about it. Sooo many consultants use a redirect, though. I really don't see the harm in it, but I'm not making the rules.

Speaking of policies, though ... why is everyone signing up with"arbonne" usernames? That is against policies too!

LOL Melle...I thought the same thing about the usernames.

Plus, Arbonne says we can't use the "Arbonne" nameon other sites when we're promoting our business, yet expect us to only have myarbonne.com as our URL. Um...okay!

I guess I won't worry about. I was just going to use my redirect on business cards and offline promotion anyway. I can always change it if it becomes an issue.

Can you explain a redirect to me? Is that like the Get Wow Skin in your siggy and then it takes you to your website?

Wendy,

Yes, that's it exactly. Personally, I think jenniferm.myarbonne.com is tough long and difficult for most people to remember, so I came up with a short and sweet domain name that I purchased, then had that domain name forwarded to my actual Arbonne website. My plan was to put it on flyers, business cards, window clings, etc. just 'cause I thought it would be easier for customers.

Oh my gosh, I just read on the Rbon board that a consultant was redirecting other consultants websites to her website through another URL and that is why Arbonne cut out the redirects! She is no longer with the company. She evidently did it to MANY consultants.I think this is so unfair to those of us that don't abuse the redirects. My redirect is good until September.I think they should have posted this in the UPclose. Hopefully they will let those of us that have one keep it until our time runs out. And... all my business cards have my redirect on it!!ARGH!

What? How is that even possible? She would've had to hack into the Inethostco system in order to do this and I seriously doubt that happened ... but I guess you never know! smileys/smiley5.gif

I say we all need to complain to Arbonne that these are important to us. I am complaining right now. They want to give us the tools we need so lets tell them what we need!

Someone on the other board said those of us that already had a redirected URL would be grandfathered in.So I guess this rule just applies to the newbies.

Has anyone personally been contacted about this issue? Everyone is talking about it but I haven't heard of one person that has been contacted and told they can't do this? Just curious.

Roger,

No one's said anything to me, but considering I'm still so new and made hardly any progress so far, I'm not sure Arbonne even knows I exist! smileys/smiley1.gif

I hope that the company enforces the no selling on ebay rule before they worry about the redirect. Have you seen how much product is on ebay. Just did a search on ebay and 858 items listed.Edited by: rburzanko

I'm a new Arbonne rep. I am very dismayed at the fact that Arbonne will not allow us to do the redirects. However, in the new policies manual it does say that they will allow it with pre-approval from Arbonne.

That shouldn't be too hard. I mean, they do have web-ready pics on the Arbonne website to use for our personal websites and print advertising. I will email them because the Arbonne sites they want us to purchase for 120.00 are not allowed to be submitted to search engines. Basically, Arbonne is wanting people looking for info to go to their official website; why is probably the bottom line.

I'm emailing them now.
