Any of you consultants here do Debt Collections?
I have been contemplating starting a VA business with Collections as my focus since I have done that before.
ANY
information on starting a Collection Agency would be helpful as well if
anyone has done this. I have been googling this all morning but would
love to talk to someone on the boards who have their own Collection
Agency /Services or who offer this service as part of their VA or Consulting business.

Hi Tia,
I am not sure if you found any information about starting a collection agency but here is what I found when I was considering doing this too. I live in WA state and in looking at the licensing for this there are a lot of hoops, bonds, etc. you must do in order to be licensed. Most states will fine you if you are a collection agency and are not properly licensed.
Sorry I don't have any up to date links but if you look up on your attorney generals web site and/or your states web site about getting a business license for a collection agency you should find the info you are looking for.
