I was just wondering about this....forming an LLC, so you can reap the benefits of true business ownership.
Has anyone done this? If not yet, are you going to do this? If you have done it, let us know how you chose your business name and what benefits you have experienced so far....http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

I just registered my business name as a sole proprietership. It is quite expensive to become an LLC in my state and at this time it isn't necessary. I might do it once I complete my schooling and get my counseling practice under way. I would recommend talking to a CPA when making that decision. We have a few of them in our Soul Purpose community.

Hey Candace, how did you go about doing that? Just to your state web site to get the forms to register the name? What is involved in that?

Hey Tanya...
I've actually justregistered my LLC (DSEHCo LLC) in February or March. It's not so hard to do in CT and is fairly inexpensive ($60). You will have to pay a $250 (if memory serves)biz entity tax every year. You have a couple months before you have to do it.A great website that I use all the time for us CT residents is www.ct-clic.com (http://www.ct-clic.com) it's the CT Licensing Information Center. There's a bunch of free help there. Also, I'll be happy to walk you through it if you'd like.
I came up with my company name because it's just my initials with thetwo letter abbreviation for Company.I have a very long name (first name, middle name, 2 last names). You KNOW I can't wait to get married so I can drop those 2 last names. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif

oOH THANKS, I have registered my DBA ( in the process of, waiting for paperwork to be completed, got my notarizing done for free from this lady I work with) and I was wondering if I should at a later point get the LLC. So yes when I am ready for that I will need your help.
I named it after my Daughter and what I love looking at that reminds me of how much of an artist our creator is. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley10.gif
