I was wondering with the cost of gas going higher everyday how that is affecting everyone in the party plan business. I know everything seems to be going up because of the price of the fuel. Just wondering???

Thanks for your response!

You can actually use the cost of gas to your advantage.

Mention something like: "Now that gas prices are so high- isn't it nice to be able to do a lot of your shopping all in one place- instead of driving from store to store!" I have many customer buy a few extra books or kid kits to have on hand so they don't need to run out!

Also- perhaps they would be intersted in the consultant opportunity- as a way to pay for gas!http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

I voted above average because most of my sales are from people buying online, which saves me gas. I also encourage basket (catalog) parties and just have people take a tote to their office and get sales.

I do drive to vendor events, but they are usually not too far from home. I try to do a couple a month.Edited by: LorettaA

I had a lady drive 8 miles out of town to my house friday and spend $320 on makeup and skin care.
Obviously she wasn't worried about gas!

I would think that gas prices could be something you could use to your advantage - especially during the holidays this year!

Especially if you called customers throughout the year (and then again during the end-of-year holidays) and offered them the service of being able to shop from home! (Or even to be able to shop from home and get their products free by hostessing).http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif

My sales are up as we show families how to save grocery money with our easy-to-pare mixes. It's a win-win with my product and presentation.
I also don't drive around with deliveries as we have a great direct-ship to customers which also help save money on my end and theirs.

Great topic!
