Can anyone explain to me why the prices for Arbonne's products are
higher than most other cosmetic companies? Has anyone on this board
used Arbonne's products such as lipstick, eye shadow, etc.? If so, how
do they compare to companies such as Mary Kay and Avon as far as
quality, etc.? How often do you have customers who buy these types of
products, or do they mostly buy the RE9 line?

smileys/smiley32.gifgood question , let me start at first pricing , i think b/c arbonne ingredients are all herbacutical, (spelling) and natural that's why they are more pricey, and i have used their foundation which is smooth for me, lipsticks would not flake my lipssmileys/smiley36.gifand mascara i don't like the mascara personallysmileys/smiley9.gifsorry,lipsticks to compare to avon which i have tried not mary kay yet haven't tried it, but i felt it was smoother and last longer, my clients have bought mostly the basics for their skin haven't had one client buy re9 set and i am not that pushy for anyone to but it, and the basics they buy every month or so, i hope it anwers some of your questions

Also... Arbonne's products are more concentrated, they last longer, since you only need a little tiny amount. So even though the prices seem steep, they really are not at all. And they work! I don't even want to guess at how much money I spent over the years to try something new and have it not work.

I've personally found the prices much less than what I was normally spending at department stores. The re9 line is way above what is even offered at department stores (in quality), and I find the eyeshadows, foundation & lipsticks to be less expensive & I like them better. The eye shadows really last & the foundation works really well for me & those that have purchased it from me. I also like the pressed powder. Edited by: arbonnebev

Arbonne's prices are not high if you compare to Lancome, Este Lauder
etc. I have used Arbonne color products in the past and liked
everything except the mascara. I found Arbonne's blushes and eye
shadows very nice. I still think Mary Kay has one of the best mascaras
on the market. I use Jafra color products now, but I still use
Mary Kay mascara!smileys/smiley36.gif

I love </span>Arbonne's mascara! smileys/smiley36.gif Just goes to show how everyone is different. I have very long lashes, and most mascara looks cakey and clumpy on me. Arbonne's is the only one that doesn't clump even after multiple coats. My lashes look feathery and they stay soft, not brittle.

The only drawback -IMO- is that one tube does not seem to last very long. Using autoship for mascara would be ideal because you would get a fresh one every month.

If you're going for a high-drama look, then Arbonne's mascara probably wouldn't be the best choice. But if you want a soft, natural look with no clumps, then it is great! <!--

There is actually a price comparison to show we are not higher than most.
(of course we are not talking about the wal mart or soap user on their face) as my upline says "they just don't know any better? smileys/smiley36.gif
I don't have time to find a link now, but will in the next couple days. It's very informative.
I have always taken care of my face, but since using Arbonne - it's amazing! I got compliments before, but wow! Now it's incredible.
The products (and I am totally talking re9 right now) will last 4-6 months if used correctly. My face is worth $400 bucks a year.smileys/smiley4.gif

I have not gotten into the colors too much, I do like the mascara though....totally NOT the 80's look.smileys/smiley36.gifNice, smooth and looks good.
The bronzer I use every day - love that and have harldy made a dent in almost 3 months.

Good topic - very educational for those that don't know.

If you want, you can join the Arbonne group on Yahoo groups and they have a price comparison of Arbonne and several other companies. I will give you the nut-shell version for our RE9 with other companies anti-aging system:

Lancome-$401.00

Estee Lauder-$428.00

Clinique-$170.00

Murad-$363.50

La Mer-$540.00

Chanel-$477.00

Dr. N. Perricone-$295.00

Ours- $266.00

If you want a more detailed list, join the Arbonne board, they have so much helpful information on there. Hope this helps!

I LOVE the mascara! I am the same way, my eye lashes are long and all other mascara feels clumpy and heavy.

Cindi- Thanks for posting that, I was just about to go hunt mine down &amp; post it. Also want to point out that at retail we are cheaper than most everyone on that list BUT if you sign up &amp; get it wholesale it's even a better savings. Price-wise that makes it on par with even Clinique. And when you take into consideration how long ours lasts, see Cassandra's post, then it makes our products ridiculously low in price.

Granted, if you shop at a drugstore for products then you are going to get a bit of sticker shock when comparing prices. However, a lot of those products you have to buy monthly b/c you run out so fast. I've had products in our RE9 linelast me 5 months or more. So in that case the wal-mart brands are more expensive because you have to buy them every month.

In my opinion, our products are a steal at our prices when you consider all of that &amp; how high quality they are. smileys/smiley1.gif

As far as your other questions I can't compare b/c I have never used those two companies products. But I can say I've used many others, high end &amp;low end, in quality Arbonne's has been much better. The make up doesn't cake on my face or look bad after I've had it on all day. I still look fresh after wearing it 8 hours. I also like that it doesn't have any type of smell to it. A lot of other make up has strong smells, which has always bugged me.

Yes, ther are some customers who only buy the facial products. But the majority of people I deal with become wholesale buyers &amp; they will "Arbonnize" their homes. I teach them how shopping at a discount with Arbonne is beneficial to them &amp; allows them to switch out the products they are currently using for their face, body &amp; hair etc to all Arbonne products.

I have had people try the NutriMinC and then say it is only $266.. I spend more then that all the time. One guy thought I was kidding he kept saying 'no really how much' I was like well if you sign up wholesale blah blah blah.. only 172.90.. He started laughing. He though I was messing with him. He said his wife and him spend much more on products that didn't feel as nice or do as much. Then I have others that use like a bar of soap and almost fall over at the price of the Normal to Dry line at only 100. So it depends on what they were using before I guess. Most people still go for the NutriMinC because it last soooo long and they just love the way it feels.

As for mascara I LOVE it!!!!!! I don't have long lashes and I love the white side that makes them longer (see the tech term.. white side smileys/smiley9.gif) I love the natural look it gives.. I also have had trouble with mascara making my eyes red. This is the only one I can use. No more red eyes or trouble when I where my contacts.

smileys/smiley36.gifanother Snuffle-afagus here! (the elephant with long long eyelashes on Sesame Street?smileys/smiley36.gif) When I was a kid riding the school bus and the windows were open, my eyelashes would flutter in the wind, so the kids called me Snuffle-afagus (or however it's spelled).

I don't like the mascarasmileys/smiley9.gif, I use eye drops throughout the day so I need a mascara that's more waterproof- so I use Mary Kay!smileys/smiley1.gif Edited by: cassandra

Can anyone explain to me why the prices for Arbonne's products are higher than most other cosmetic companies?

I think our pricesare comparable to the lines that most folks think of as quality. Our productshave been described as salon quality. When you look at how long they last, ours are actually a little less expensive than most. It's kind of like "Do I buy the 88 cent light bulb that lasts 3-4 weeks or the $3 light bulb hat last several years?"

Has anyone on this board used Arbonne's products such as lipstick, eye shadow, etc.? If so, how do they compare to companies such as Mary Kay and Avon as far as quality, etc.?

I have never tried MK other than hand lotion and was the Avon lady many, many, many moons ago. I never saw Avon asquality, I saw it as affordable and they had a huge variety. Please understand, I'm not slamming Avon. It's about perceived value. If I want aspecial outfit for a special occasion I don't go to Wal-Mart, I go to Kaufmans. I do shop Wal-Mart for everyday household items.

How often do you have customers who buy these types of products, or do they mostly buy the RE9 line?

In 4 months, I have sold about 6-8 RE9 sets. I also sell a wide variety of our products as folks tend to Arbonnize their homes or are interested in a particular line we sell like vitamins, weight loss, etc

I love the mascara, too! The lengthener really works, when I am not careful, it makes my lashes so long they hit my glasses when I blink, LOL!

I agree about the price being relative. I have friends who use Aveda or Lancome or Mac and the prices are comparable. In fact, one of my business builders used to work for all three of those companies.ANd she is so hooked on Arbonne makeup and skin care. She loves it and says the quality is so much better.

So according to her and other customers I have who have used a variety, they compare Avon and Mary Kay more to the drug store quality and price, and Arbonne more to the Salon quality and professional lines, but even cheaper and better!

I think the RE9 set is actually pretty cheap. I was using Bobbi Brown's eye cream and vitamin enriched face cream, which was not anti-aging and I was paying $85 for both. I am so happier with RE9, my face has never felt so good!
