I have the book here to help me, but just thought I would throw it out there for any tips.

I am in AZ and I am studying for life and health.

THANKS

Just wanted to add, GOOD LUCK, LISA!!

I'm supposed to be studying for my life and health as well, but I've been extremely busy with p and c/life, etc. - I just need to set time aside to just do it!

I just passed my Life & Health exam for Georgia on March 20. (On the first try!).

I used www.examfx.com (http://www.examfx.com).

It's not the best if you aren't disciplined...I thinkwww.license2go.com (http://www.license2go.com) is probably better. I procrastinated for a long time....UNTIL I WAS FIELD-TRAINED (recruiting tip).

Once I saw how easy it was, my motivation to pass my exam went through the roof.

I have been toying with the idea of taking the course and getting my license. My back ground is in the mortgage industry- which I have had such a hard time- I was wondering if working the insurance part would be any different and wanted to add this to work in addition to. Please tell me in your opinion how the field-training influenced your decision to get your license.

Okay, I'll spill the beans....but under one condition.

No company bashing!!!

Okay. Over a year ago I met a young lady named Shareha on another networking forum. I stumbled upon a conversation that she had where she told people she worked for a mortgage protection company where she was able to get leads of home owners that specifically requested coverage for mortgage protection with no medical exam required.

To make a long story short, one year and a close friendship later, I learned that this young lady runs appointments one to two times per week and earns a six-figure income doing so.

Some time in Febuary or so, she let me know that her mentor, Carlton Lear, would fly down from Chicago to Atlanta to field train me, if I so desired. I jumped at the chance.

We traveled to Alabama, where he had about eight appointments scheduled on a Saturday.

Each appointment lasted about 20-30 minutes. I watched him earn several thousand dollars that day (as I was unlicensed), and I was sold.

That was actually a slow day for him. In fact, he has a team of about 300 agents and in his second year, he is on track to earn one million dollars this year.

If you would like more info, please feel free to PM me.

Good for you!http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley32.gifNext month, I think I am going to take the class:) Get it out the way - I know of Carlton Lear and the company he is with, I still receive emails to attend their seminars. Congratulations to you on your achievement, adding a life/health license to my portfolio can only help my clients as well as educate me in regards to the needs of my own family.

Very good info, Cornelius

A few points that I would like to make:

Non-med policies are not as expensive as people think. For instance, I can get $250,000 worth of coverage on a non-med term policy for only $40.95 per month.

Secondly, you don't want to go med until you at least make sure you have a non-med policy in place first. The reason is because, what people don't realize is that the MIB (Medical Information Bureau) is like a credit report for your health. If you go med, and they find something wrong, that will affect your ability to get coverage for the rest of your life (depending on what they find). Then it will be too late to go non-med without having to pay a higher premium.

The young lady that originally shared this program with me does not put all her eggs in one basket. She actually does mortgage protection, final expense, and medical supplement plans so that she ensures that she is always in business...no matter what time of year or what the lead flow is like.

However, being that I am new to the industry and have already been field-trained on mortgage protection, I am choosing tostart there first. Then once I have gained some level of expertise, I will expand my business. That is the beauty of being a truly independent agent. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif
