Hi everyone - How do you handle it when someone asks you to "do" their child's birthday party?

I have had consultant's do birthday parties for their customers. The one that was really successful the birthday girl made up a wish list prior to the party. When they sent out the invites they included the wish list and explained how the party would work.

Then at the party they played with most of the items that the birthday girl picked out.

I know that we have also done party favors that incorporate the toys. For example: I sell a product called Mini Motors. Put together a little bag of those for each child to take home. They are basically little cars... great for sorting and playing with. We have also put them on cupcakes.

Hopefully that helps. Krista

Thanks, I have done one in the past but felt SO TACKY asking the guests to buy gifts either for their kids or for the hostess' child. I don't think I want to do it again but someone did ask me the other day so I wondered if anyone out there does this. I wouldn't mind if the hostess bought stuff for the guests' kids first (say $10 or $15 products) and then the birthday kid would get the free/half price, and if the moms wanted to buy more, fine. Most birthday parties cost about $200+ anyway. I just felt like free entertainment and the sales were awful.

Totally agree. I have never done it personally. Didn't want to be the free entertainment. My downline had great success with the parties that she has done in the past.

Baby showers seem to be more beneficial!
