I saw this article in the Fall/Winter 2005 homebasics magazine and thought it would be cool information to pass onto our customers to help them realize the impact that scents can have on our lives. Here are some excerpts from the article.

"The fastest and easiest way to change your mood is with smell", says Alan Hirsch, M.D., director of the Smell & Taste Treatment and Research Foundation in Chicago. Use these scents to rev up, wind down and coast through those crazy weeks.

Feeling tired- Citrus: Lemon, lime, and orange scents invigorate and fight fatigue. Start your morning with a zesty soap (sweet orange and chili pepper for example) smileys/smiley2.gifor body wash; follow with a citrus-scented lotion for an instant pick me up.

Feeling hungry- Mint: This appetite reducer can help you curb cravings.

Feeling stressed- Vanilla: A natural antidote to stress, vanilla relaxes your nerves. Before bedtime, sit with a good book and a vanilla-scented candle (Mia Bella of course), then follow with a great night's sleep!

Feeling nervous- Cucumber: This clean and cool scent soothes and calms; it has even been shown to help with claustrophobia.

Feeling gloomy- Berry: This fruity fragrance inspires happiness and helps create a cozy winter environment.

I thought this was some great info to use. I want to get with some local day spas, salons, massage places, yoga places, etc.and thought it would be great to mention the calming/stress relieving/invigorating effects that our wonderful Mia Bella candles can have on people (in case they didn't already know).

I hope you guys enjoyed these little tidbits. smileys/smiley1.gif
