Okay I have a question and I'm not sure how to word it, but I will give it a shot!!

I've deceieded to start a candle company and wanted to get a web site. I have a template that I want to use, so design is not a problem. I wanted to knowif I buy the basic package that comes with the hosting and domain name, can I add a Pay Pal type of shopping cart to it, or will I have to get on of those Merchant accounts where you have to pay per transaction and annual? It seems like a lot to pay just to start with.

Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

P.S- If you know a cheap web host/domain, I would greatly appreciate that info too. My head hurts from all of the web searching!!!!http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif

No, you don't have to get a merchant account. PayPal is fine. You'll find that more and more online businesses are accomodating PayPal payments.

I have very affordable hosting & domain registration (link in my sig). Let us know if you need any help!

Yes - you can just purchase hosting and use that on its own. A paypal shopping cart is no problem :) If you want to get paypal websites payments pro, you would be able to accept credit cards too (the monthly fee of $20 is waived through Feb I think).

www.ducksoupcreations.com (http://www.ducksoupcreations.com) is my company, if you would like to check us out for hosting!

www.citymax.com (http://www.citymax.com) is a great way to start too. The PayPal shopping cart is already integrated in to the site smileys/smiley4.gif
