I was at a dinner last night with fellow Home Interiors Consultants (a team meeting/Christmas party) My husband took a phone call from a lady looking for votive cups. My DH said I wouldn't be home til after 9:00 but could he take her name and number and call tomorrow. He said it was pulling teeth to get her name and number but she finally gave it.
I called her this a.m. (at 8:15 a.m. because she was leaving at 8:45 a.m.) to find out what she needed. She told me she did not care what the votive cups looked like, they just needed to be long and could I get them to her today. Well, the only votive cups I had were short ones so I got on the horn and called a couple of people. My Unit Director (and sponsor) had some so I got ready and ran to her house (after dropping my children to their respective places for the day). I got the votive cups, brought them to this lady's house (mind you I have never met the lady and there was no money passed through hands) and left them on her porch. I left a message on her answering machine that I had done that. She called me this afternoon and was eccstatic that I had done this and said she would book a party after the holidays!! (and that the check is in the mail)
My tip of the day is to bend over backwards for a prospective new customer. You never know what will happen. She may not book a party after the excitement wears off, but she will definately tell the next person at her dinner party on Friday night when she gets a compliment on her votive cups that her Home Interiors lady did all she could to get them for her. My day was made!!

Awesome, Rachel. Isn't it amazing what providing real customer service can actually do?
And, like you basically said, even if there isn't that booking, big sale, etc., it ultimately feels great to run our business with integrity and that will come back to us in some way, shape, or form.
Congrats and Bravo to you! smileys/smiley32.gif
