What are you doing NOW to get shows for January and February?
I'd love to hear all your ideas...
are you offering special incentives, if so, is the company you're with offering them or will they come out of your pocket?

Southern Living at Home begins a new catalog January 1st... which is always fun! People are always trying to redecorate after the holidays.
I'm also pretty fortunate that Southern Living at HOME offers double hostess dollars in January! I can't imagine doing shows in January without Double Hostess Dollars!
I have 8 shows on my calendar and I need to call 3 more people that told me to call them! Last year I sold $6,500 in Jan... and my goal this year is $7,000! It's the first month of our incentive trip and I try to earn at least half if not more of the trip in one month.
If you're having trouble booking, you could always offer something yourself. It might cost you a little, but you'll benefit in the long run.

Big Yellow Box is offering a GREAT incentive for hosts. Every guest will get a FREE pack of Crayola products for EVERY $35 they spend. So, if a guest spends $70, they will get two packs.
If the show totals $300, then the hostess gets a larger package of Crayola products, and if the show totals $400 in sales, then she'll get a FREE Vermont Teddy Bear!
I got quite a few bookings with that incentive. My hostesses really like that their guests will get something for free if they place an order. Many people hate inviting friends because they dont' want to pressure them to buy; having this reward helps the hosts feel like the pressure will be off of them.
I will probalby offer some benefit to those who want to book a February party from one of my January parties. I'm not sure...double hostess gifts, maybe? I've done that before with mixed results.
I'd love to hear other ideas, though!

A qualified show is just $250 in sales.
Here's how:
20% of show sales in FREE jewelry - up to 40% with 10 orders & 2 bookings off their show.
4 - Hostess Bonus Items for just $15 each- (up to a $100 value, unless otherwise stated)
2 - Items at Half-Price of anything in the catalog
Past Hostess Privilige - Receive any item for 1/2 price at a show booked from yours.
In addition, there are Hostess only items available and are beautiful.

I just called people who have expressed an interest (even it was just a "maybe") and shared with them not only my company's special for January, but also helped with good reasons for wanting to booking an event in that month. Such as, with my company's type of product, wine lovers often find themselves after the holiday with their wine racks down to next-to-nothing or completely whiped out, so it's a great time to take advantage of the extra incentive and re-stock.
So, company specials are great, and I'm so glad that so many party plan companies offer something extra special in January, but also try to find some good reasons for your customers to at least think about. That might generate more "yes's" as opposed to the, "Oh your special sounds great, but it's soon after the holidays, maybe I'll wait," kind of responses. smileys/smiley4.gif

Our company is offering a free jar candle to all bookings in January and they get it before their party plus a second jar for booking the first week in January. With a $250 party you'll get a $35 bowl candle free and with 8 buying guests a dozen votives free. Plus that's in addition to the regular 20 % host credits making $50 with a $250 party. And NONE of it comes out of my pocket!! I have 14 January bookings and my goal is to hold at least 12.

Premier Designs is offering 50% Hostess Benefits through January 27th! And we have 4 $25 Bonuses.
So in January, you will receive $225 in Free Jewelry for a Qualifying Show of $250 in sales. I have 11 Bookings
And I am now offering 40% Hostess Benefits through February. Our normal is 30%, so I will simply pay the extra 10% for the added Free Jewelry myself.
If I need to give her $30 extra in Jewelry. It will only cost me $15 with my discount. Makes sense if it fills my calendar!

To really answer your question on how to get it done...
Either use the Company's Special or Make Up One of Your Own.
Then get on the phone...Tell them that you have a Something GREATplannedfor January and just knew that they would want to be a part of it!
Also, let them know that you will only be able to offer this to a certain number of women...make it sound exclusive! Like this: "Due to my schedule I will only be able to let 3 more women take advantage of this Awesome Special and I knew you would want me to give you first dibs."
I always block off 10-11 Dates a month to do shows and that is all I do! I will not make exceptions on my caledar...So if they want to take advantage of this great special they need to set a date with me NOW.
