Hi. I was just wondering if anyone is currently working as a bridal consultant-wedding planner. I find it very interesting and thinking of taking the courses for it through an online college. Can you make good money doing this? My husband thinks it would be a waste since we live in a small town, but I told him that someone is always going to get married somewhere. Any info from anyone would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Several years ago I certified through Discount Bridal Service. It was a weekend seminar. I'm not even sure if they are around anymore. It was a fun business and you can do it from home. However, the down side of this is that you have people coming to your house to be fitted and look through catalogs. So if you aren't comfortable with people coming to your house you might want to go to their house if that seems more comfortable. Also, it is mostly week night and weekend hours (typical retail stuff). For me, I wanted a job during the regular week day so this wasn't a good fit. But it was a worthwhile experience and a fun industry to work in. Best of luck to you.

Before going into any business, make sure there is a need for it, or it won't matter how hard you work.
