if there something out there besidesAVG Anti-Virus Free Edition. I have it on my laptop, but I read on the license agreement, that it can be used on just one computer. I need to add protection on our desktop, just wondering if there was any good ones out there that somebody could recommend, that are free to download. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

Actually, I get free McAfee Anti Virus through my ISP. You could check and see if they offer anything like that. Otherwise I think they do offer a 30 day trial. Sorry, I'm not too much help on the free downloads :(

You can download AVG's free edition on any computer. We have 3 computers and have downloaded it on all three with no problem.
In addition to AVG I run bitdefender once a week. It doesn't work with Opera but does work with Internet Explorer. It's not downloadable but they have a free version you run via the internet. It has caught some things that other's have not.

I used the AVG in the past. I started having problems with malware and decided I needed something better. I found COMODO. They are rated best by one of the PC magazines and best of all, it's free. They have firewall, anti-malware (which is on all the time), anti-virus, and spam for your e-mail. I haven't had any problems since installing it. There is never a certificate renewal like with AVG. It's great. You can install it on as many computers as you like. Check it out.

I use Avast and I love it. It runs in the background. I hardly know it's there.

www.filehippo.com has a ton of free open source software, including a bunch of antivirus programs. I've always used AVG free on every computer I've owned and never had a problem loading to more than one at a time. hope that link helps.

I know a great many people that use AVG without a bit of problems but for some reason I experienced issues with it on sending outgoing mail from Outlook Express so I switched to Avast, have used it about 3 yrs without any problems at all. It has done the job for me and I do not hesitate to recommend it. Good Luck
