Rise Up Magazine —a new national magazine celebrating racial, ethnic,
cultural, and religious diversity—is seeking to develop mutually
rewarding relationships with freelance journalists of all ethnicities
and cultural traditions. Rise Up is a weekly publication that will be
distributed in newspapers in major U.S. markets and on the Web. The
mission of the magazine is to help bridge racial, ethnic, and cultural
divisions in American society. Rise Up will enlighten, educate,
entertain, inform, and inspire its readers’ with content that
celebrates the differences that make us unique, while rediscovering and
reaffirming those things we hold in common that bind us together as
human beings. We need experienced thorough reporters, and insightful
intellectually challenging commentators, in cities and communities
across the country, to write about social issues, family life,
interpersonal relationships, work, education, history, food, arts and
culture. Articles will run 500-3,500 words. Please send resume and 3-5
previously published writing samples to Managing Editor at
