It seems like there has been an "explosion" of Arbonne in my area. It's getting harder and harder for me to find someone who hasn't already been approached by an Arbonne consultant.
Is anyone else finding this to be an issue? If so, how are you dealing with it?

Lisa,
I'm right there with you. I haven't really started approaching strangers yet as I feel completely unprepared. Most of my friends and aquaintances are already working with someone. My family will be a big part of my start-up with presentations in January. After that, I am going to have to start hitting the pavement. There ARE still people out there who are unfamiliar with Arbonne. I've just got to find them!
How did your other appointments go? Are you "puppying" people? I can handle a group presentation, but the one-on-one thing is actually kind of scary for me.

I started just over a month ago and altho many know of the products, most do not. I made District Manager yesterday. I was thrilled to say the least.
One of the things that has helped me is to contact people I know via the internet, family/friends out of state as well as friends here locally. Remember too that just because someone knows about Arbonne or is using Arbonne doesn't mean they are purchasing wholesale as a consultant. You don't have to "sell" the business as a money maker, encourage wholesale customer/consultant so that they can get their products at wholesale cost. I was really surprised when a couple of people told me they had been buying retail not realizing that for the $29 they could get their products at wholesale cost. I also let them know of the "bonus" things allows for consultant too like free product with first $100 order, $100 for $20 with every $250 retail value order. All those things help with sales/sign-ups. Wholesale customer/consultants today are the business builders of tomorrow.
Good luck in your venture.

I have the opposite problem. No on has heard of Arbonne where I
am and although that's a good thing it's so hard to get people to even
try it!

I feel the need to remind/inform you all of our Code of Ethics. Here is a link from Donna Johnson: http://www.spiritwings.com/pdfs/gettingstarted/businessethic (http://www.spiritwings.com/pdfs/gettingstarted/businessethics.pdf) s.pdf

Cassandra,
Thank you for the link and the information. Anyone who is a retail client already, I offer them any information I can provide and also recommend they talk to the person they bought from. I agree, that is the "fair" way to do it. I don't want anyone to think I'm out "working" other peoples clients.
There are people who have purchased Arbonne then never hear from their consultant again or know about Arbonne because of a previous sale but have lost contact with their consultant.

I'm in the same situation as Carolyn, not many have heard of Arbonne and seem reluctant to try it.I have found that no matter what line you sell there is going to be what seems likean abundance of consultants and people already using the line, when really alot of people haven't heard of are experienced Arbonne at all. I know it can be stressing but keep trying

ENVP Donna Johnson did a very good job with laying it all out when she wrote that Ethics document.
I've run into several people who know several consultants, but nobody had approached them about Arbonne, I guess everyone just assumed that someone else had. I've also had a gal in my downline lose a few retail clients because she "retailed" and didn't focus on wholesalers. Is it fair to her? No, but it's also not fair to the clients to put them in that situation. I for one tell everyone about the wholesale account, and I do get people who say, No thanks, I'll just pay retail.

My ERVP was in my "clique" of friends before she started with Arbonne, so much of my warm market was already with her. Then my RVP knows alot of the same friends in another circle of friends of mine. So I didn't have much of a warm market when I started either. So what did I have to do? Create a new warm market! Meet people who's "circles" didn't include Arbonne people! They ARE out there!

I live in the Charlotte area, and I'll tell you what, Mary Kay is all over the place. There are at least 4 of their Nationals just in Charlotte. There are 4 Mary Kay consultants just in my neighborhood. But not everyone in Charlotte wears Mary Kay. And if I'm lucky, one day I'll have everyone in Charlotte wearing Arbonne. smileys/smiley36.gif
Anyway, a long time ago I did a telecommunication network marketing thing. And I bought a tape about how to do business without friends and family. It had a funny twist on things, but it was soooo true. Your family and friends already have a pre-conceived idea about who you are. So they may rain on your parade.
The best thing to do is go out and network. (Hint - network marketing) When you are out and about, smile. If someone smiles back, pay her a compliment. If she seems friendly say, "Excuse me, you're gonna think I'm crazy. My National Vice President has asked me to get the opinion of 20 people this month on our skin care. (hand her a sample - be sure to include instructions) Is there any reason why I couldn't get your opinion? Great. (take her name and number) When would be best for me to call you to follow-up, Wednesday or Thursday? Afternoon or evening? 7 or 8? Great! Thank you so much for helping me. Have a great day."
Give it a try.

Thanks for the tips. Me and my partner are thinking of working the business through spa party sales rather than pup appointments. My partner is a massage therapist so the spa thing could work for us. She will also stock some products at her business when things pick up.

I live in an area where Arbonne is relatively unknown as well. Western NY.
I am blessed to have such a great opportunity to share Arbonne with newbies! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif

Lisa,
I think I'm headed on the same route with the parties. I know a lot of people who aren't comfortable doing them, but I am a natural born party person, I guess. I love dealing with crowds of people and getting them involved. I'm almost more comfy with that than with a one-on-one appointment. But I know I'll need to do both to be successful. Let us know how it's working for you!

Hi ladies, I'm new to this board, and I live in the Philly suburbs, but my mom lives in South Central Pa. My area has many who've heard of it because our region is growing so quickly, but my mom's is still pretty fresh, so I'm concentrating there a lot.
Think about the people you see semi-often but don't know extremely well, maybe someone you talk to regularly at the gym, a parent you wait outside your kid's preschool with. I've done great with the bartenders and waitresses where by boyfriend bartends part time.
Carolyn, that's good to know about South NJ, we spend a lot of time in Wildwood over the summer because my boyfriend plays guitar there, so I will just start prospecting the people I meet at his gigs! You'd better get to all of them before Memorial Day!smileys/smiley2.gif

Your partner should network with other MT's and see if they would like to use and retail thearomassentials lineas well. There is a MT near where I live that does justthat and she loves it so do her clients. We are so lucky to work for a company with so many possiblities. After I finish esthetician school next fall I am going to go to massage school. I hope I get lots of professional contacts because it's a win/win situation for everyone when they become w/s and then retail. You are so lucky to have a partner to be working with. I am praying for one. Best of luck.
